Spring

Good morning crafty friends.
Today marks the start of a new challenge over at Fantasy Stampers. This time we would like to see your traditionally stamped projects (NO DIGI's) on the theme of -

SPRING is in the AIR

Lots of ideas, too many as usual. The blackthorn has blossomed in places and the lambs are jumping in our fields but no daffodils or crocus as the rabbits have feasted on them! Anyway I went with this idea in the end.

I used the latest challenge over at Fusion to focus my thoughts, using both the picture and sketch.

The stamp I used is Blended Bloom from SU, not an anemone but it did bare a resemblance, especially with the central area of anthers! I do like anemones and have tried to grow them without any success, think it's something to do with the corms you get which are tricky to germinate.

I first took my cue from the colours and and inked a rose patterned embossing folder with DIs in pinks and purples before spritzing with water and then printing on a card panel. I went over the image with a wash of water to soften the image before it dried.
On a separate piece of card I masked and stamped three of the blooms in Versamark then embossed in white before colouring with DI in a w/c technique.
When dry I die cut a panel, then went over the centers of the flowers with a dark blue grey Copic to loose some of the white contrast.
I die cut a panel with a Creative Impressions Striplet die to create the vertical panel, a stamped Happy Birthday completed the design.

OK, that's about it, pop over to the main blog and check out the rest of the DT's fab inspiration and join in the fun.

I shall also join in the fun at -

As you like it Challenge - Rubber or Digi Stamp (Much prefer a traditional stamp, you can't heat emboss a digi! )
Creative Inspirations - AG, option of a sketch (no sketch for me)
