Favourite Sketch

Morning all.
Is it 2 weeks since I last posted for Cardz4Guyz? Well it must be as it's time for a brand new challenge. This time we would like your masculine cards on the theme of:-

BEVERAGES

Lots to go on with there, alcoholic and non! Here I've used another image from my stamped and not coloured box which fit the bill perfectly.

I kept the sentiment quite broad, Hobby Arts, so it could be used for a birthday, a retirement or good luck. The trio are from Fizzy Moon which I coloured with Copics using one of my favourite sketches as AYLI are using that as their theme and I might just get it over the line before the challenge closes. I do love a good sketch and this was originally from Sketch Saturday a few years ago. I find they are a great starting point, especially if my Mojo is missing.

As it was a masculine card I left off the ribbon detail and used the sentiment banner instead. I like to play with sketches and rather than layer up the central circle detail, I die cut an aperture and made a frame using two circle dies, placing it over the opening on the central white panel. The DP, NitWits, was attached to the base card and then a square of the same was cut and added at 90' to give some more interest. My beer swilling guys were glued to the bottom of the opening then the whole central panel was added using foam pads.
So that's all from me but where will the new theme take you?
The rest of the team have some fun ideas here, if you need some more inspiration.
Hope to see you in our gallery.

Happy 1st Birthday

 Afternoon folks.
Dropping in to share this card before the closing bell, where has the time gone?

Over at Time Out they are celebrating Magnetic Number day, who knew there was such a thing. I do know that I tried to get some for my Granddaughter's birthday and they were a little thin on the ground so I gave up on that angle! Anyway here is a cute birthday card for a little girl using LOTV's Bunny Alphabet, which I coloured with Copic markers and mounted on some bright stripey DP from the stash. My sentiment banner is a really old Uniko set now retired. A little bit of punched grass, also coloured with Copics completes.

Off to join in before the deadline at:-

Color Hues #87

Afternoon folks.
Over halfway through May already, can you believe it? Anyway that means that it's time for a new colour combo from Color Hues
Here's my take on the new duo.

I knew I wanted to make another character based card so had a rifle through my stamped but not coloured box and found these two laughing ladies, no doubt stamped whilst at a friends. Another rifle, this time through my DP drawers led me to a 12 x 12 paper from Bo Bunny that's been there for donkey's and was the perfect colour, if I cut off the floral part! Looks a bit bluer in this pic than in real life.
So after colouring the ladies with Copics, I fussy cut them then added them to a white, scrap circle from the bits box on which I'd already stamped the sentiment, DoCrafts, it could even be the leftover from my tennis girl card! This was then added to my DP covered base card with foam pads.

So where will these new colours take you? As always the team and our GD have come up trumps with their inspiration for you here. Check them out and then why not join in?

Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Seeing Stars

Morning all.
It's time for a brand new challenge over at Cardz4Guyz. This time we would like to see your masculine take on the theme of:-

STARS and/or STRIPES

I decided to go down the stars route and use some of my Uniko goodies.
Here's my inspiration card.

Quite a simple card that I made for my Grandson to give to his Dad on Father's Day, he loves a rainbow!
First I inked three colours of DI, Mustard Seed, Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry, lightly onto a panel of white card. Obviously when the colours overlap you get a second, but I was careful NOT to mix all three or you end up with a muddy colour. I then used Uniko's Seeing Stars stencil to ink with the same three inks over the top of the soft background, keeping the edges soft.
Using some more Uniko goodies, I created the central sentiment, fussy cutting the word star and heat embossing white on black the 2 sentiment strips.
While I had my Uniko goodies out, I made a few more cards that you can find out more about here.

Hope to see your takes in the gallery but if you need some more inspiration please check out the rest of the Cardz4Guyz team here. For more Uniko inspiration find more star ideas here.

Color Hues #86

Good afternoon folks.
Today sees a new colour challenge form Color Hues. This time it was my choice and I went for, hopefully, a pretty spring combo to inspire you, here's my card.

I knew roughly that I wanted to make a floral card, so after searching through my stash I finally decided to use an oldie but goodie, Altenew's Painted Flowers. It was one of the first set of their's I bought and hasn't been inked up in a while!
At first I was going to cover the whole panel and use the camouflage die technique but finally went for this much simpler idea. I stamped the elements with Memento Gray Flannel as I thought it was a much better choice for the soft colours than black. The lilac inking was courtesy of Altenew's Lavender Field and Soft Lilac and the greens Altenew's Bamboo and Parrot.
The congrats, Pink and Main, was die cut from an ancient scrap of pearl card in the stash, the stamped sentiment is from Uniko. A few scattered pearlescent sequins complete the design.

So where will my colours take you? As usual the fabulous Color Hues girls and our GD Sue have lots of ideas to inspire, should you require it. See you in the gallery!
