Make Your Mark @ATSM

Welcome back to my late night post for the brand new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More. Our first challenge of 2015 is-

MAKE YOUR MARK

So lots of scope there! For my DT card I also took inspiration from a couple of other challenges and came up with this.

I started with the idea from Less is More where their challenge is OL with the theme of New Beginnings. I was slightly stumped I must say by the stamps available  to me then I eventually went with an old favourite, my MB Calm Countryside die and a MB Country Landscape one.
I cut the Calm Countryside from my base card then cut part of the Landscape die from the waste to show one house and a couple of trees. I inked the sky with DIs and coloured the trees, house and grass in Copics, adding a little path. I added a bit of colour to the clouds to give them a little definition and stamped a congratulations on the base card. I then replaced all the little bits to create a OL card.
I think Nich might be asking for a New Home card soon as one of her friends is hoping to move house so this should suit.

This week we are sponsored by

who are offering a 20$ gift certificate, so that's a fantastic incentive to have a go and join in.

I shall also enter the following challenges -

Allsorts - New and Cute
The Male Room - New Beginnings

OK, that's about it, hop over to the main site and check out the rest of the team's fab inspiration and meet the newbies on the block as well as say hi to the oldies.

Anything goes at ATSM

Evening all.
Yep it's triple post Tuesday! Since the clocks have gone back my post for ATSM is scheduled for a Tuesday instead of early Wednesday mornings. I am hoping that I will have internet when I visit my son on Wednesday for my evening out to craft class with Di, but it doesn't look good as the gas men look to have damaged his cable connection while digging the road up. They are due Wednesday am so perhaps I will get online before I head home. If not I apologise in advance to the rest of my teamies for my lack of prompt commenting!

This week our theme over at ATSM is

ANYTHING GOES

It means you can let your imagination run riot but that also means so many ideas run around in my head that I find it difficult to come down on one idea!
Anyway here is my card.

I took my inspiration from a couple of challenges, always a good way to focus the mind.
Over at Less is More it is their one layer challenge, Inkspirational's cue word is shine and One layer simplicity is Home sweet home.

The stencil for this was made by cutting out the frame using MB Calm Countryside (without the clouds) and part of MB Country Landscape. The sky was inked using DI Chipped Sapphire then the stars were added using a steady had and a bottle of silver Stickles! The greeting is from a set that came free with a mag.

OK that's about it. Please visit the rest of the team for more inspiration if you need it and then join in.

I shall enter the following challenges -

Less is More - OLC Starry Starry Night
One layer Simplicity - Home Sweet Home

Muse #91

Afternoon, just, and thanks for calling around.

Warning this post contains an overload of photos!

I saw the latest challenge over at Muse this week and simply had to play along.
This week the Guest Muse, the talented Michele Ferguson,  has asked for not one card but three using one sheet of design paper. Well , that was a bit of an ask as I couldn't choose which paper from my copious stash to use! A little bit of retail therapy even came into the mix, but in the end I decided to use a sheet of paper that came free with a magazine which I squirreled away, too good to use!!! I think its a Do Crafts Forever Friends paper from Simply Cards and Papercrafts.

Here they all are.

Actually it is a set of four as those sharp eyed followers will recognize the same paper in a card I shared on Friday. I was inspired by this card to carry on and create a set. I used my scene dies as the focus for my trio.

Here is a closer look at the three cards

This one uses a new Marianne die I bought when I had a trip to LOTV in Farsley with my good friend Di and a freebie sentiment.

The second is a shaker card made using another freebie sentiment and my Calm Countryside die. I've certainly got my monies worth out of this little die.

Here is a close up of the beads I used.

The last of my trio is based on that Friday design but I used my Country Landscape die and coloured one of the cottages with Copics.

The top was embossed with the snow folder and I stuck a punched circle for the moon together with  a branch die cut.
I had toyed with using my Chistmas candle die but decided to stick with a landscape theme.

I shall enter these cards in the following challenges

Muse -  #91 A Trio of Cards
Less is More - Non traditional Christmas colours

Thanks for stopping 'til the end!
See you back here sometime soon.

Muse #88

Good afternoon, just.
Its been a bit of a strange morning today, weatherwise. Went out in my fleece even though the sun was out its been chilly these last few days, but I was absolutely sweltered!! Weird weather we are having at the mo.
Anyway here is a card I made yesterday in between making table runners for my daughter's new kitchen/diner but it got too dark to take a photo by the time I finished it.

I made this with a few challenges in mind and the fact that Christmas is around the corner and I need to get a few cards made before the mad rush!

Over at Muse this weeks Muse card is by the fabulous, Therese Calvird

in which she hopes to encourage us to use our design papers.
I saw this and thought immediately of my Memory Box dies, Country Landscape and Calm Countryside. The latest challenge at the Cutting Edge also has an image using the cloud theme and

coloured border,

and over at Merry Monday's  Silent Night is the theme.

So as you may be able to see, I've taken a little bit of inspiration from all three images.
,I used the Calm Countryside die to cut an aperture then extended it with a Cookie Cutter square die.
I then used it again to create the back layer of hills and the Country Landscape for the two nearer hills. The papers were from the stash, just odds and ens in the Christmas paper box. I chose one's that suggested snow on grass. I cut the houses again in kraft and brown and coloured some paper with a Copic to create the lights in the windows. The sky was also from the stash, showing twinkling stars. The base card is covered in some textured green DP with diagonal stripes, but I can't get them to show on the photo! The frame was popped up on pads.
OK that's about it, thanks for calling by.

Sunny Sunday

Morning all, the sun is out and there is promise of another lovely day.
I'm rather late with posting this card as I have Nich and family over, so Ben had first dibs on the laptop and then Joe used it to watch the match last night. I was also out with Nich doing some window shopping yesterday so although this card was made before their arrival I couldn't down load it from my phone!

I made it with a few challenges in mind -

Face the music and dance - Song 'The green green grass of home'

and

I love it when I can group challenges together!

I used a couple of Memory Box dies and a nested square to create the scene and stamped the greeting using one from a Woodware set. I just used scraps from the stash and a piece of marbled paper also from the stash.

I think this could be perfect for someone moving to a new house.

OK, that's a wrap, better go and see what Benny boy is up to in the lounge!

One layer sky

Good morning.
Not such a clear morning a bit drizzly first thing, but we may get a bit of sun before more showers this aft.
I'm posting a card I made on Friday for Fantasy Stampers then realised it didn't really have much stamping, just the sentiment! I made it with two challenges in mind,

CAS on Sunday - One Layer

I'm still making Nich's thank you cards as you can see. I've used the MB Calm Countryside die with some water spritzed DI inked card for the sky then pieced it all back together to make the one layer. I love the zingy sky, it's a great contrast to the white card. The sentiment is from Personnel Impressions.

OK, must get on with the chores as Al has taken Max ragwort pulling!

Sparkle, Shimmer and Shine

Evening all.
Was that summer? No need to open all windows tonight, but at least the rain has stopped so Al has gone out to play again!! Hopefully it may be a little better tomorrow and the weekend.
So while he was out I was playing in the craftroom and came up with this.

I had half a mind to this weeks Merry Monday Challenge when I made this.

I know the MB die is called Calm Countryside but it did shout snow scene when I got it out of the packet. I am still playing around with different ways of framing and layering so this was a little bit of invertage, if there is such a word. Really simple construction just a couple of the MB diecuts plus some stacking square frames all overlayed onto some pale blue/ turquoise glitter card then onto a white square base card.

I shall also enter the following challenges:-
Keep it Simple - lots of turquoise

OK, time for my Wimbledon fix, thanks for stopping by.
