Good afternoon. This is no April fool, it is after noon so the joke would be on me anyway, it's a new colour combination at Color Hues. Here's my take.
When we had a similar pairing I made this card, using some DP I found in my stash from way back when. It was a double sided piece, so I went with the reverse for this card using more AI ladies. The layout is similar, one of my go to ones, but instead of an embossed circle over a panel of DP, I've cut a circle from a panel of white linen card, embossed with an ancient Cuttlebug EF and placed the DP behind it. Some more of the teal textured card trims the panel and frames the sentiment, also AI.
My ladies were coloured with Copics, then fussy cut and added to one side of my embossed panel. The whole panel was then added to a linen top fold card.
So where will these new colours take you? As always the team and our GD have some fab ideas if you need further inspiration.
Looking forward to seeing your makes in the gallery.
Awesome card. You took the colors and ran with them for sure. I really don't know how you fussy cut those images so well. Love this fun layout with the DSP background. Have a great rest of the week. Hope Spring has arrived.
ReplyDeleteGreat coloring and perfect papers for this challenge, Julie! That sentiment is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love when you color up these ladies Julie! Your coloring is always perfect and the sentiments always bring a chuckle out!! Fun, FUN card my friend...love it!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteJules, you picked a great color combination, and made the most of it with these two hilarious ladies! Love the card design, too! I think I need this stamp--and the sentiment. I'm of the age where both are so appropriate for many of my friends.
ReplyDeleteI have quite a collection of the AI gals (guys too). They are just so fun and often so perfect. Your coloring is fabulous and that sentiment hits home. LOL! Awesome card JulieB!
ReplyDeleteYour gals crack me up! They're hilarious and, as always, you've breathed wonderful life into them with your perfect colouring. The patterned paper, embossing and overall design makes for one stand-out card!

Those are such great ladies, Julie and I love how you coloured them. The embossed dots and fun paper make a great backdrop. I also like how you positioned the ladies to the side rather than having them in the middle.
ReplyDeleteHope you are well, and it would be good to meet up sometime this spring. Have you heard of any classes/craft sales coming up?
Hugs

ReplyDeleteIt is always such a treat to see the way you use those Stampin' Bella images and your fussy cutting skills are amazing! Such a fun card, the 'old' DP is fabulous and your colouring always so lovely!!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have a treasure trove of pattern papers, Julie and always the right one for the right challenge. Your card really speaks to me since I'm ushering in a new decade on my birthday this year lol. Fabulous coloring and design, as always!
