Photo Inspiration @ATSM

Good morning.
Is it really a fortnight since my last DT for Addicted to Stamps and More?
Well this Indian Summer of ours continues so the trees around here aren't quite in their full autumnal glory yet but a couple of sharp frosts and they will.

This week at Addicted to Stamps and More its our picture inspiration week and this is my interpretation,

and this is the picture we would like to inspire you with -

I took inspiration in the horizontal shuttering, leaves and colours to create my card.
I didn't have an embossing folder with broad stripes so had to think how to make the background. In the end I cut strips of card and mounted them on a small piece of card at both ends then ran my panel through my Grand Caliber. I was quite pleased with the result, not as crisp as a proper folder by I quite liked the slight irregularity.
I'm afraid the Brusho came out again as I think its a great way to get intense colour in a random way. I changed my mind after creating a panel to out out the foliage so cut it out then inked it again with those fab little crystals. I added a strip of burlap/hessian, small tag sentiment and some linen twine to complete.
Why not pop over to the main blog and check what the rest of the girls have come up with I'm sure you will be inspired by their fantastic work.

This week we are sponsored by

OK, over to you and good luck.

I shall be entering the following challenges:-

ATSM Challenge #111

Hi, thanks for calling around.
It's time for a new challenge at

This week our sponsors are

who are giving away 5 digis to the winner

This is an
  ANYTHING GOES
challenge, so the world is your oyster, so to speak.
The DT are dedicating this challenge to one of our original DT members Marie ( baileyrosey.com) who is currently on the DT for our sister challenge Addicted to CAS. She is going through a really rough time at the moment and we thought it would be nice to get a linky going in her honour just to cheer her up a little. So if you would like to send your best wishes just link your project as usual to the ATSM site and mention Marie in your post if you would like.

Here is my card for your inspiration.

I was influenced by a couple of challenges while making this card.

Black and White plus one other colour

a sketch

( rotated and mirrored it)

and the

I chose lime for my extra colour as my friend Di is redecorating using this as a focal colour and it went well with what I had in mind for the flower. Nich bought me some flowers for lending her my car when her's was stolen and one of them was a spray of chrysanthemums in lime green as well as one in white.  I used an old Sizzix daisy Bigz die cut several times in copy paper and also in the green card for the center. The leaves are cut down MB Fresh Foliage and Grove Branch. The white panel was cut from the Tessatina Border also from Memory Box. I went with a black panel after the picture at The Cutting Edge inspiration photo but went with a white base for added contrast.
OK that's a wrap as they say.
Pop over to the ATSM blog and check out what the rest of the gang have made to inspire you and join us.

Thanks for stopping by, come back soon.

Red, orange and yellow

Evening folks.
After a bit of a hiccup around lunch it's been a great day here.
I have been doing a bit of cleaning ( no tittering please) as some friends are coming around for a bit of crafty fun and girly chat tomorrow. However, I have been sitting down a doing a little bit of crafting in between the hoovering and dog walking. This card has been in the making since Saturday but for one reason or another didn't get finished until this aft.

I made it with quite a few challenges in mind and was a little bit inspired by a card by fellow teamie at ATSM the lovely Loll.

The layout is inspired by the sketch at Less is More -mirrored

and the colours by the latest challenge at

and finally the background was created by using watercolour washes of DIs in Squeezed Lemonade, Fired Brick and Dried Marigold then over stamped it with a text stamp with Tea Dye. I also used a technique called Bokeh using Versamark Canary on top it sort of intensifies the yellow, so I guess it fits with the challenge at
The panel was then die cut using a recent acquisition my Die-Namics 'Pierced Rectangles'.  I added a sprig of leaves using part of a Fresh Foliage die cut in green and added a few berries from my hole punch waste in red. The Hello and tab were from a Marianne set COL 1315.

OK that's a wrap. Thanks for stopping by and come back soon.

Gold

Morning all.
My friend Di says I've been quiet in blogland but I have been busy in my craftroom.
I made a card based on a card I saw on someone's Pinterest board but I cannot find it again as I am not on Pinterest, I just followed a link to a pin of one of my cards and did a bit of browsing. I think it was by a lady called Birgit, so apologies again to her for not being able to locate the exact post and link, just her fantastic blog.
19/10/17 here is the link to a pin of her fab card.
I was aiming to cover a couple of challenges with this card,

and

 one layer -foliage

The lay out is the same as the card I saw, but this is just on one layer.
I die cut my MB Fresh Foliage die then used the leftover as a mask to ink the card with Versamark and then heat embossed with gold. I then added a few dots using an embossing pen and used silver pearl powder to emboss. The circles of golden colours were made using a circle stencil cut out of scrap then inked with DIs. The sentiment was stamped in brown.

OK, that's it for today. See you again soon.

Earth Tones at Less is More

Just a quick post this evening as the day has just whizzed by. I have been absent from the craftroom all week for one reason or another so I haven't had chance to join in at Less is More where the theme of the week is -

EARTH TONES

I think I will just about get this posted and entered in time.

Apologies for the poor photo but its a bit dark now! I've used that MB Fresh Foliage die cut which I coloured with copper and gold heat embossing powder. The background green was stamped with a texture stamp in Versamark. The aperture was lying around on my desk so thought I would use it.

OK, I said it was a quick post, so that's about it.

Don't forget there is still time to enter the CAS challenge over at Fantasy Stampers - just use an old fashioned one, no digis

ATSM 2nd birthday

Good afternoon peeps.
It's a glorious day again here, too hot for me at the moment, I'm not one who loves to be out soaking up the rays. So just taking a few minutes to post while the heats at it's worst.
Over at Addicted to Stamps and More it's their second birthday and 100th challenge, woohoo and a round of applause to Kylie and the rest of the team. It's a great challenge and I always try to take part if I can. This week it's a photo inspiration:-

I have been studying this for awhile, then along came this weeks challenge at Less is More . This week they are challenging us to use -

WATERCOLOUR

Well I just couldn't refuse to take part and after playing around I decided to combine the two challenges and came up with this card.

What you may say has it to do with watercolour, well if you look closely at the rainbow panel you will see a subtle pattern. This was created by spritzing a Happy Birthday definition stamp with water then laying the inked panel, made by blending DIs, on top and pressing down then gently removing it and leaving to dry. The water acts as a bleaching agent and removes the ink to leave the interesting pattern. I tried using acrylic stamps with this technique but it wasn't as successful as the rubber stamp.
The panel was laid down on an A6 black base card and then I used a Memory Box 'Fresh Foliage' diecut and Spellbinders D-Lites sentiment 1 Best Wishes in white card on top.

OK, that's about it. Hope you can join in over at ATSM for their birthday celebrations.
You still have time to enter the Anniversary Challenge over at Cardz4Guyz.
