Uniko Product Revisit

Morning, there's no March release from Uniko, so Bev and the other Uniko Brand Ambassadors are revisiting the two releases from earlier in the year.

I've chosen the fabulous Bauhaus Blocks Spring Layering Stencil for my focus, here are couple of ideas.

I started by covering an A6 panel of white card with the various elements of the stencils, using Cracked Pistachio, Picked Raspberry and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxides. When I had covered the white  panel, I realised that I had made an error in one of the flowers, so it stood out like a sore thumb, so not wanting to waste the panel I cut it up and made two cards!

This first card uses a part of the panel.

Another error was that my A6 panel wasn't, about 5mm too narrow! I had to make a decision and decided to use it, trimming it down so that it fit an A6 topfold note card, with a white border showing. To emphasise the gap, I added a panel of paper inked on my Gelli plate. I used the Squeezed Lemonade and Cracked Pistachio to give a kind of speckled effect. The Oxide inks blend so well like this, I prefer it to straight inking. The combination of yellow and the soft green gives a lovely spring feel to the card. A stamped and embossed sentiment completes.

Remember that error on my original panel, well here is what I made with that.

The error was front and central, so I just covered it with the sentiment! More of my Gelli plate paper and some Greetery dies complete.

Color Hues #126

Afternoon all.

It's the first day of a new month so it's time for a brand new colour challenge from Color Hues. This time it was my choice of colours and as we enter the month of Valentine's Day, I decided to go with an appropriate colour duo! 

Here's what I made using the new colours.

My colours may not match the prompt but that doesn't matter, its only there to give you a visual clue! You're allowed metallics and neutrals too, of course.

After Uniko's release yesterday, I still had a bit of a stencilled panel of Bauhaus Blocks Spring, which was crying out to be made into a card, so I trimmed what was left of the A5 panel down to be 4 x 4 squares. I've used some Altenew reds and pinks from their Tea Party set for the stencilling, always a good choice for co-ordinating colours, I only used 3, leaving Coral Blush out.

The stencil is a set of three, each layer creating part of the whole and it co-ordinates perfectly with their other Bauhaus Block stencils. Here I've used the Spring and original sets to cover an A5 panel of white card.

To create the backing panels for the stencilling I created a couple of Gelli plate panels using the Altenew inks, a great way to co ordinate your colours without having to rifle through your stash to get the right colour! It also gives the panels a more interesting slightly shaded effect you don't get with cardstock. The gold letters were cut from a scrap of gold card with an MFT die set and glued to some more black letters to create a shadow, before adding to my panel. The completed panel was then added to a 5 x 5 inch white note card.

Uniko January Release Day, Bloghop and Giveaway

Hooray, it's release day at Uniko!!

As of 9am GMT, you can now purchase all the wonderful stencils and the Block Party stamp set.

To celebrate we are, as usual,having a blog hop and a bit of a GIVEAWAY! But first here are a few more ideas using the new stash.

Here is a very simple card using Bauhaus Spring Blocks stencil combined with the original Bauhaus Blocks stencil.

Simply an A6 panel of white card covered with a mix of both stencils, cut at a jaunty angle and a simple sentiment from the Bauhaus Blocks stamp set. I only used 3 colours of Distress Oxides, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean but achieved a darker green where I used the blue over the green!

Next is a card made using the Ink n Flip Heart pattern stencil.

Yet another of my Gelli plate pulls, cut with a square die and mounted on yet another Gelli plate pull, Abandoned Coral and Worn Lipstick DOx and mounted onto a 41/2" square, white, card base.

The heart in the center is from Block Party Love, stamped and embossed before being fussy cut out. Mounted on a fancy die cut white circle, The Greetery, this was attached to my panel with foam tape. A few leftover die cut red foil hearts complete.

Onto our new Ink n Flip Butterfly pattern stencil. 

I was having far too much fun playing with my Gelli plate and stencils and ended up with a pretty lilac background used in this card!

The background uses a mix of Wilted Violet and Chipped Sapphire Distressed Oxide, as do the butterflies. This time I've stamped the outline image from Butterfly Serenade, which the observant of you will have realised is a perfect match for the stencil butterfly! I used a sparkly silver EP and some sparkly silver card to frame my sentiment from my Doodle Flower stash! I still can't get over how pretty these Gelli print panels are, even if it wasn't intentional!!

Finally this card.

Here is another simple make using one of my Gelli plate prints and the Block Party Love stamp. This time white heat embossing over a Scattered Polka Hearts stencil print background on white then a panel of matching Distress Oxide pulled from my Gelli plate a few times to get some depth of colour. A very quick and easy card.

Introducing Layering Bauhaus Blocks Spring Stencil

Good morning. Today is the first reveal of Uniko's January release where Bev has designed another of those fab Bauhaus stencils. This one is called Spring, it can be used on it's own or in a combination of the other Bauhaus blocks stencils.

My first card uses just the Spring Block stencil and some letters from Alphabet Outlined.

As with other Bauhaus Blocks stencils it is a 3 stencil set which you can use to build up a grid pattern. I made a few errors whilst stencilling it for the first time so decided to save the OK squares by cutting them out and reassembling them onto a panel of white copy paper in a 4 x 4 grid. The inks used here are Distress Inks, Barn Door, Worn Lipstick and Aged Mahogany. I added some glossy accents to a few of the squares before adding my letters to spell LOVE, the small heart conveniently nestling in the center of the O! Mounted on a slightly larger panel of white inked around the edge with Barn Door DI, then added to a 5 x 5 white note card on foam pads.

My second uses a combination of the Spring Blocks and the regular Bauhaus blocks stencil.

This time I used Altenew inks, Vineyard Berry, Heart Beat and Pink Pearl. The inked panel was cut down and added to an A6 side fold card and the speech bubble die cut, Mama Elephant, was stamped and heat embossed in gold with a sentiment from Falling Hearts Serenade and tiny hearts from Balloon Bash. This was added over the stencilled panel with foam pads.
