Good evening peeps.
Hope you are all well and keeping cheerful in these troubling times.
As a crafter, I tend to retreat to my room and immerse myself in making to take my mind off all the negative news.
I know it might be considered trivial compared with what is going on out there in the world at the mo, but it gets me through the day!
How about you? Why not escape to your craft room and join us for this month's challenge at HLS CAS. Here's my card.
I combined a coupe of challenges for my inspiration, AAA Cards and Time Out.
This is a quick one layer card made by stenciling and stamping.
I first stenciled a few feathers using a free stencil with Wilted Violet DI, then added some texture to the foreground feather by stamping the matching feather with Versamark and clear gloss EP.
The photo doesn't really show it but in reality there is quite a bit of texture there.
A simple sentiment from the set was added to complete.
So how will you interpret the challenge, there's more inspiration by the rest of the DT here.

Sorry about the photo but the sun was too bright and casting shadows in my usual spot!

Beautiful CAS card! Love the purples. I agree, crafting can help keep us sane!
ReplyDeleteLovely card. Simple but effective. Xx
ReplyDeleteI think you do the right thing retreating into your craft room but unfortunately my hubby is working from home and taken over my craft area-so no crafting. Hoping at the weekend to sort a new area out! And your card is just perfect for this time. Love the different purple and the sentiment is just right. Thanks for joining Time Out
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card design.
ReplyDeleteHugs Diane
A great card Jules, love the delicate colour and the sentiment too. To avoid the news I take myself off to my work room, walk the dogs and strangely, at the moment, poo picking has a certain appeal too!! Keep well xx
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty purple feather, and what a great sentiment. Thanks so much for playing along at Time Out.
ReplyDeleteSuper CAS and so beautiful! (I love feathers; just use them not enough...) Thank you for joining us at TIME OUT!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love this! Super CAS design, the softness of the purples and the sentiment, wow. Thank you for joining us at AAA Cards and Time out, Hugs - Oh Sorry, Social distancing ;) Namaste ~ Ishani
ReplyDeleteSuper stylish and of course the purple appeals to me! Thanks for playing at AAA Cards, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Keep safe, stay home and craft instead!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design Jules! I love the soft stenciled feathers in the background. Really adds visual dimension to your one layer card. Great sentiment! xx
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful card! Thank you for playing at AAA Cards!
ReplyDeleteThis is great, Jules, loving the two tone feathers. I think I have this free stencil too! A great sentiment too xx
ReplyDeleteGreat CAS card, Jules. I love how you created two plans on the card. These bright feathers give the impression of a second plan, depth on the card. Great design.
