Shoot, it's a Goal!

Morning folks.
There have been lots of grey days recently, but today is a bright crisp winter morning.
Anyway as the outside hasn't been beckoning I used the time for some extended crafty time to make this card for the new challenge over at Cardz4Guyz -

SHAPED CARDS

I used my Sizzix Thinlets hexagon dies to create the base card and white frame and a LOTV image 'Football Crazy', the hexagonal shapes echo the panels on the football. The base card was covered with another hexagon of NitWits DP, the frame was popped up on pads and a circle of matching card added flat in the center.
Using the colour of the DP as a start, I used Copics to colour the footballer before fussy cutting him and the ball out. The footballer was popped up on pads in the center circle and the ball flat on the frame. He looked to be floating so I grounded him by adding some grass with a few strokes of my Zig pens. When I finished and started to write this post I realized that my layout was not as I had remembered the Sketch Saturday sketch but if you rotate it 90" the layout looks more like it! Hope that's OK.
Anyway for more shape inspiration please check out the rest of the team here.

I'd like to join in over at -
