Merry Monday GD

Good afternoon folks.
Just popping by to announce that I'm guesting over at Merry Monday,  yay!
My little deer scene won over there last Monday so I was invited to contribute to this week's challenge post. Here is my offering.

This week's challenge is -

With this theme the timing was perfect as I needed to make a card for my Owl obsessed ex-neighbour.
Regular readers might remember the birthday cards I make for Audrey and Christmas is no exception and when CASology's cue word was OWL, well what else could I do!

For this card I dug out my Lawn Fawn little owl and MB branch die and Falling Snow EF.
The owl is coloured with Copics, the scarf in Sheffield Wednesday FC colours, they being the 'Owls' close to Audrey's heart! If they are playing at home on Boxing Day she'll be heading out to watch, if not whisper it quietly she may visit the red and white home of the other Sheffield team, United!

I kept the layout very simple as befits CASology, keeping my wintery scene on the small pierced rectangle diecut, adding rolling snowy hills, not that you can see them in this image, lousy light for photography! This was then mounted on a base card that I had dry embossed.
Job done. Please check out the inspiration from the fab Merry Monday DT and join us.

Fruit

Good morning all.
Yesterday was such a foul day I didn't stir far from my craft room, even the dog turned tail and wanted to come back in after doing the essentials!
Anyway it was a great excuse to get some Christmas cards made.
Here is one that was inspired by the challenge at Less is More.

The theme of FRUIT stumped me for a while, I had some non Christmas ideas but then seeing Anita's inspiration card I remembered this image. I know it's from Stampin Up, Partridge in a Pear tree?, I stamped it last year when a couple of friends came down for a crafty get together and it was in my stamped but not used stash! To be honest I had completely forgotten that I had it left over so it was good to use it up before it got trashed! The image is coloured with Copics and then die cut with a MFT pierced square and mounted on red.
The layout is simple but reflects the latest sketch at Sketch Saturday so I shall enter it there as well.

Well that's about it, the weather has not improved and the winds are forecast to be strengthening to 60mph gusts around here, so I better batten down the hatches!

Fantasy Stampers

Good morning all. Hope you are looking forward to a relaxing weekend.
Just stopping by to share a couple of tags I've made for challenges and to remind you that Fantasy STAMPers latest challenge, Traditional Christmas is on for another week.
We are a stamping challenge so we need to see stamping on your projects.
Iknow you can get carried away when you see the topic at challenges, I did it myself this week!
I made this first tag for this week's reminder post but then realised that it didn't have any stamping on it so I made another which has stamping in the background.

My first tag was made using a new MB die which I inlaid into a die cut tag base, adding some glossy accents to the holly berries and leaves. I embossed the center of the bauble with a Cuttlebuf ornament EF and the die cut bow was from a MB snowflake die!
The second tag was inspired by one I saw over at Loll's 12 Tags of Christmas, I was going to join in after my GD spot but time just ran away from me and it is now too late. I die cut the tag base then inked it with Twisted Citron DI overstamped with a Papermania holiday words background stamp in the same ink.
I made the tree by rolling graduated strips of festive paper into straws and glueing them to make the tree and pot. A die cut sentiment and some gingham ribbon and twine from the stash complete.
Check out the Fantasy Stampers DT here for more inspiration.

I'd like to join in over at:-

Red and Green with a tree or other festive foliage
I made the first tag to start with, trying to keep it very CAS and inspired by the holly on Natasha's tag but the second is more in keeping with the majority of the other Muse tags this week

Too late, dang!!

28 Days 'til Christmas!

Good evening and Happy Thanksgiving to all you American readers.
I'd just worked out out that there are only 28 sleeps left until Christmas! Arrgh!!!
So here is another card for my stash.

I do apologies for the quality of the image, the light went before I could photograph it in daylight and mirror card doesn't photograph well in artificial light!
I used the layout from The Paper Players for this card, using two of the stamps from STAMPlorations Vignette: Christmas Bells. The white and gold tag were cut using a Sizzix thinlet die, the top one being stamped then embossed in gold and set at an angle to the first. I stamped then embossed in gold the bells from the set, adding some Copic colour to add extra interest. The banner is a strip of vellum and the base card was embossed with a Cuttlebug falling snow EF. Red and gold ribbon, from my stash complete the card.

NUMBERS!

Sassy

Good morning all.
These Thursdays are coming around quicker than ever, I must get organised and get a few cards written and posted, especially overseas ones!
Anyway as a break fro Christmas cards this week's challenge at Cardz4Galz is -

FASHION CHIC

I really struggled to find anything that comes into that category as I mainly have male cards to make, however after trawling through my stash I came across this old stamp that I thought would fit the bill.

She looks a very cool young lady, sassy and hopefully fashionably chic!
The stamp is Pillow Talk from Sugar Nellie which I stamped, coloured with Copics then fussy before mounting on my card.  I used some NitWits papers and some linen effect white card and a snippet of darker purple for the punched border.
OK. now it's your turn, we'd love to see what you come up with for this challenge!

STAMPlorations blog hop - Thanks

Hi and welcome to a post to let you know that over at STAMPlorations Shery has organised a mini blog hop to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Living in England I don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but that doesn't matter, we all need to be thankful on occasions and I usually make a raft of Thank You cards for my daughter to give to her TA's at school. This is one card that will find it's way into the stash!

While I was tiding up the other day, yes don't faint, I came across the very thing that sparked off this card. It was a silver 'thanks' that a friend cut for me a long time ago using her Cricut, one day when  we got together for a bit of crafting and gossip!
To start I took a white base card and stamped 3 butterflies from my Trendy Butterflies set then embossed with white EP. I then sprinkled some turquoise Brusho over the area around the butterflies then spritzed it with water. Although it doesn't show in the picture there is a shimmer to the background made by adding a small amount of Inka Gold wax in platinum and steel blue to a spray bottle then adding water and shaking to dissolve the wax or rather to allow it to become suspended in the liquid. I don't think the mix was 100% right as it did blob when I sprayed but I quite liked the effect. The Cricut thanks was then glued over the panel below the butterflies. I was thinking of the layout at CAS(e) this Sketch but just realised I switched the sketch around!

OK now down to business.

To win a 4 x 6 stamp of your choice, visit and leave a comment on all of the DTs blog posts and the main STAMPlorations site before Friday November 27th at 11.55 PST. Simples.
The winner will be announced on Sunday 29th November.
Enjoy the hop!

Krafty Snowman

Good morning all, hope I find you all well.
My the days are rattling on towards Christmas. Hopefully the latest challenge at Cardz4Guyz will assist you in the making of your Christmas cards as our new challenge is -

FUN IN THE SNOW

I've noticed that the first snow of the season fell in this country as well as over the pond. I hope you enjoyed it just like this cute snowman in my inspiration card for the DT.

The layout is the latest from Sketch Saturday and the snowman is a colouring image from Hobby House that my good friend Di gave to me the other week. There were lots of other cute images in the set but I went with the juggling snowman for this card. I coloured him in Copics before fussy cutting him out and mounting him on the kraft snow DP from LOTV's set Krafty Christmas. The papers were free when I bought some stamps at Port Sunny this time and the snowflakes are from a die by Impression Obsession. I cut the snowballs separately and mounted them on pads for a little more interest.
OK, that's it from me, now it's your turn, we would love to see what you come up with.

New House

Good afternoon folks.
Just stopping by to share a card I made for my friend Chris who has FINALLY moved into her new house with husband Tim.
They have been converting a traditional 1930's bungalow with the aide of their architect son, into a modern two storey open plan home. I think they may have thought that it would never happen as their old house must have been on the market for 3 years!
Anyway I have hung back from making a card not wishing to jinx the sale offer they had in September until I had confirmation that they were now in.
So this is the card I made.

I've used a NEBUS set from STAMPlorations- The Bee's Knees, Houses and the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

I cut a panel of white card and diecut a smaller one with a MFT pierced rectangle die then stamped a row of houses in Memento Gray Flannel. On a piece of scrap I stamped another in black, coloured with Copics then fussy cut then mounted on pads over the central house. The die cut panel was attached to the white panel and stamped some more houses in Weathered Wood DI. The sentiment is from Mollie Bloom, one I had totally forgotten about! The whole stamped panel was then glued flat to a kraft card base.

That's about it then , thanks for stopping by.

Red, Green and Gold

Morning all.
Despite the flurry of white fluffy stuff drifting down yesterday evening I awoke to green fields, blue skies and a stiff breeze!
Anyway if you have some of the white fluffy stuff I hope it doesn't spoil your weekend.
Christmas draws ever closer so it's perhaps fortuitous that the latest challenge at Fantasy Stampers is

TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS

For my DT card I went with traditional colours and imagery, red, green and gold plus holly and the poinsettia. Not sure when that delight made it onto cards but I've a feeling it is not native to these parts!

As it's a STAMPING challenge at Fantasy Stampers, I had to use some stamping as well as this gorgeous die cut poinsettia. The leaves were stamped using my Dee's Artsy Impressions Christmas Bell Medley from STAMPlorations in green DI then coloured in Copics and fussy cut them.
To make the base I cut a white panel and a slightly larger one in gold mirror card. I wanted an aperture so cut a circle in the two panels and base card before embossing the white one with an EF, Nellie Snellen I think. The poinsettia is the same one from LeCrea cut in red and the flowers added with yellow crystals. The holly berries were made using scraps and a hole punch. The white flowers surrounding the central aperture were punched with centers of gold Pearly Doodles.
I stamped the sentiment from Crafters Companion on the inside but made sure it was central to the aperture so you could see it when the card was closed.
OK, that's about it.
Please check out the rest of the DT here and why not take the opportunity to get another Christmas card made for your stash.

White and Silver

God morning all.
Welcome to a post to announce a new challenge over at Cardz4Galz. This week it was my turn to choose the theme and I chose -

Your Favourite Christmas Colour Combo

After I chose this theme I had to think hard as to which colours were my favourites! In the end I decided that I like WOW and don't use it nearly enough, so it was the perfect time to make a card using just white and a little silver.

I used a selection of die cuts to make this including Lea'bilities framed square curve and LeCrea poinsettia die with a MB Snowflake Corner. The greeting is from a couple of sets stamped in black. For a bit more girlyness I added small silver diamontes to the poinsettia and snowflake border.
That's about it from me but please check out the rest of the DT and join us for this latest challenge.

Santa

Hi, welcome to my late night post to announce the latest challenge at ATSM.
This week our theme is -

ANYTHING GOES

So, lots of scope for you all there!
Here is my card for the DT inspiration.

This is a one layer card made for a couple of challenges as the AG theme always gives me too many ideas!

I started by cutting a square aperture in some scrap paper then placing it over my base card, added a circular mask and a torn paper mask for the hills, then inked the exposed base card with Chipped Sapphire DI.
After removing the circular mask I stamped some tree tops and my Santa with his reindeer. I coloured the sleigh with Copics and a little white gel pen. The large mask and hill masks were then removed, I stamped the greeting from Crafters Companion, in black and added some stars to the sky with my white gel pen.
Job done.  One layer cards are all in the planning, so look more difficult than they are!

This week we are sponsored by -

who are giving the winner a 15$ voucher

Season's Greetings

Good afternoon.
Just popping by to remind you all that the current challenge at STAMPlorations is ongoing until the end of the month.
This is my reminder project.

This time I've not used the theme of

but the sketch.

I've kept it pretty CAS, taking the sketch to be snowy hills and the deer for the three flowers. The sentiment has been moved as there wasn't room above the hills!

You may wonder which STAMPloration products I used, well I love the effect of a snow stencil but don't have one, perhaps that's one for the future Shery! So I used one of the tiny circle stamps from the Dee's Artsy Impressions Balloons and Banners set and repeat stamped it, then used white embossing powder to create the effect of falling snow. I made the background panel by stippling a mixture of DIs, Seedless Preserves, Mermaid Lagoon, Shaded Lilac, Salty Ocean, and Peacock Feathers onto a piece of white card.
The sketch suggested hills to me so I cut a pair using a MFT die then added some die cut deer, cutting the antlers off two of them. I placed the stag in the rear against the sky, a la Monarch of the Glen, it also gives the impression of him being larger than the does in the foreground even if he isn't in real life! The sentiment from Dee's Artsy Impressions Christmas Bell Medley is stamped in black.
That's about it from me, please check out the rest of the DT, GD  Suchi and join in, we'd love to see your interpretation.

Thanks for stopping by.

Toot toot

Good morning.
I hope you are all safe and dry after all the rain we have been having 'Up North'!
As it's Tuesday it must be time for a new challenge at Cardz4Guyz.
This week we would like to see your projects on the theme of -

TRAINS, PLANES and AUTOMOBILES

For my card I stuck with just the train aspect and made a card in preparation for a friend of Ben's birthday. He loves trains and travelling to visit Ben on the train with his mum, dad and brother. As the train passes by at the bottom of the field he loves to check them out, a real train buff!

The stamp is by Molly Bloom and gets quite a lot of use as an image for little boy's birthday cards.
I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and papers from a couple of NitWits collections. The greeting is also Molly Bloom and the '7' is die cut using MFT Little Numbers. I used Copics to colour the image and die cut the panel by fussy cutting the smoke, then sliding the die by MFT under it before running through the Grand Caliber. The white circles were die cut using MFT stitched circles and mounted on Spellbinders eyelet circles die cuts.

Now it's over to you, we'd love to see what you come up with. For more inspiration check out the rest of the DT here.
