Romantic framed bloom

Evening all.
It's been a whole fortnight since my last ATSM post so it's time for another!
This week we would like to see projects that are -

CAS

Here is my card for your inspiration.

I used the picture at the Card Concept, choosing the pink roses and oval mirror as a focus and the colours over at Altenew as inspiration.

I die cut a Spellbinders scalloped oval from pinky cream card then made it into a frame by cutting the middle away with an oval die. I cut another frame from fun foam and mounted the frame on top.
The blooms, Altenew's Remember This, were stamped and embossed with white EP before being coloured with Zig pens and fussy cut. I stamped the Smile on a die cut piece of matching card and embossed it with silver EP. The whole adorned frame was then placed on a soft grey background.

Use a die

If music be the food of love..

..give me excess of it, so that surfeiting the appetite may sicken and so die.

That's about all I remember about Shakespeare's Twelfth Night other than a very embarrassing incident in the gent's loo at the old Leeds Playhouse in the early 70's, but enough said about that!

Anyway back to the present, and we have a brand new challenge over at Cardz4Guyz and you may have been wondering what the last paragraph was all about. Well our theme for this fortnight is -

L is for .....

Well as tomorrow is Valentine's day then it must be love but you could choose, lego, lions, light or whatever you want, so long as it starts with the letter L.

Here's mine.

I decided to use my brand new CAS-ual Friday goodies which I bought with my voucher for winning with this card plus a little bit of homemade felt and freehand stave.
Using a snowdrift die I drew the five lines of the stave then added a black die cut treble clef cut using my CAS-ual Friday's die, then a selection of small hearts from the CAS-ual Fridays strip die. I have some needle felting bits and bobs, so I used a practice piece to cut a heart using the clef die and added it to the black original. The small hearts were cut from the same scrap of w/c paper coloured with Brusho which I used for this card, arranging them over the stave. I finished by stamping this fab sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays.

Happy 6th Birthday Uniko

Morning all folks and welcome to Uniko's 6th Birthday Treasure Hunt!

Over 6 years Uniko has produced 104 (not including 2018s) clear stamp sets  and today the Design Team and a couple of 'special guests' have created a FUN clear stamp set treasure hunt blog hop for you to join in on. The aim of the treasure hunt is for you not only to be inspired by each of the projects the DT and our guests are sharing, but also to find a NAME of a clear stamp set from each of the 6 years Uniko has been going, from 2012 - 2017. 

I was so pleased to be asked by Bev if I would contribute as one of their 'special guests' to the celebrations by making a card using one of my favourite sets, Pure Florals: Gerbera. It was the first Uniko stamp set I bought a few years ago but was originally released in July 2012.

I wanted to showcase the lusciousness of the whole set, so using this card  as inspiration I went ahead. I love the look of large cover stamps but really find it hard to justify the cost, as they are not something that can be used on a regular basis. So I decided to make up my own faux one using most of the stamps and a lot of masking. A good friend has a birthday this month, red is her favourite colour and it also suits the bold gerbera image. The gold and black works well with the red for this, so here is the end result. 

To start, I must apologise for the picture quality, there was so much gold embossing I couldn't quite get the right level of light without it reflecting on part of the card. This was the best of half a dozen photos!

I started by stamping the outline gerbera on my black card base, then embossed with gold EP, masked that and added stamps and masks as I moved up the panel. For the sentiment strip I wanted to use a gold background with a black border so I inked black card through a homemade stencil with my Versamark pad and heat embossed in the same gold EP. The happy birthday from, Classic Numbers, was going to be stamped with StazOn but when I got mine out it was bone dry, so I stamped in Versamark and embossed in black EP. It gives a rather 3D effect I think.

When all the embossing was complete, I used my Prisma crayons to colour the bloom, so apart from the sentiment the whole card is one layer.

Now down to the treasure hunt details.

Each person along the hop has created a project using a clear stamp set from the year they were allocated. They will also mention the year that the clear stamp set was released somewhere in their blog post. 

There are 11 amazing and inspirational designers in the hop and one DT Member has created 2 projects using 2 clear stamp sets from the six years, so there are 2 clear stamp sets from each of the 6 years to be found. Easy peasy!

Clustered Hearts

Evening folks. February is well on it's way and love is definitely in the blogland ether.

For the next few months we are doing things a little differently at STAMPlorations so that new mum Shery can do some catch -up. So, instead of all the different challenges we are pooling all our DT talent together for a special monthly challenge. Basically anything goes, CAS, MM or dies, so long as it fits the theme.

Here is my card for your inspiration.

Obviously I went with the romance element of the pic but you could go with the colours of the teacups, whatever takes your fancy.

My card is very CAS, using the CUTplorations Clustered Heart die and the now sadly retired stamp set Sentiment Builders - Love.

To start I took a panel of linen effect card, then from some of the same stock, I die cut three of the outlines, then again in red. I linked up the hearts to make a complete strip, glued them across my panel and then stamped my sentiment either side of the diecut and gold embossed it. I replaced a few of the white hearts with some red ones and left a tiny one to the right of the sentiment. My panel was popped up on foam pads over a white base card made from the same linen effect card.

CASeing Loll

Evening all.

The year is whizzing by and already we are in February, so that must mean a new challenge over at HLS CAS. 

Here is my take on this months theme for all you romantics out there!

The inspiration for this card came from the very talented Loll who made this card. 

I liked the layout and the subtle colouring of the die cut hexagons with the die cut and stamped sentiment, but just mirrored the layout in mine to better match the sketch at Fusion.

The paper for my hearts were snippets too from a failed experiment of wax resist and Brusho, which had partly been used for something else. I used a variety of dies including the IO Heart of hearts and Little B hearts, to cut the hearts, popping them up on red fun foam die cuts. The die cut sentiment was one that I cut with Sarah's (Sazzle Dazzle) die at the first HLS retreat coloured with black Copic marker. The embossed one by Altenew, was stamped on a trimmed off black strip and embossed with white EP. For a little more interest I used a white linen effect base card.
