Good afternoon and welcome to my third post of the day to announce the start of a brand new colour combo over at Color Hues. This time we've gone with an unusual combo of blue and brown but those colours work really well together I think you'll find. Here is my take.
This first design has been in my experiments to be made into a card box for quite awhile and I wasn't sure if it had survived unscathed, but it appears to have done so! It uses a Visible Image stamp called Butterfly Inkognito which I purchased from Port Sunlight quite a while ago. I don't recall what inks I used either possibly one was Memento Rich Cocoa, but the sentiment is definitely STAMPlorations! The stamping is a bit uneven on the main butterfly so I decided to have another go with the kissing technique used to create the brown script. This time its an IndigoBlu script stamp, also purchased at a PS stamp fair!
For this second attempt I used Memento Summer Sky and Espresso Truffle and another STAMPlorations sentiment.
The coverage of the blue ink is better but I prefer the colour combo of the first, the brown is too dark, I think I should have used Rich Cocoa, never mind, you get the overall effect.
To get the text to stamp just on the butterfly I used the kissing technique, where you stamp onto the larger stamp after the initial stamping with the script and stamp again to transfer the same pattern onto the background stamping. You don't need to use text you can use anything that gives the effect of texture.
So that's all from me but please check out the rest of the team for more colour combo ideas.
