Slimline Christmas card

Afternoon peeps, just popping by to share a Christmas card I made for a couple of challenges, that if I hurry up, I wont miss!

I apologise for the photo, the light here the last few days has been awful for taking pics. In fact yesterday I had the lights on well before 3pm!
The challenge at As You Like it, is Snowmen or Penguins, well I went for penguins, I love this cheeky image from LOTV and their images are fab to colour with my Copics too. I did buy it with my daughter and family in mind as my SiL loves penguins but there were so many cute penguin images on their site I bought some a load more, well they were on offer, wink!
I used an off cut of NitWits Ho Ho Ho DP, left over from a previous project with a couple of blue stripes added with a Copic marker to match the image colours. I more or less followed the sketch at Fusion but I suppose the pic was an influence too. Unusually for me I went with a slimline design as I have loads of envelops this size from way, way back when they were popular before and I've run out of the normal C6 ones! To add a little bit more sparkle, I added some stickles to the snow and strips of red glitter paper to the top and bottom of the image.

Snowmen or Penguins

  1. A brilliant card. A great image for a slimline card. Thanks for joining AYLI challenge. Elaine

  2. It's a great design, and those penguins are the cutest! Dark, here, too. Our house doesn't get a lot of light on a good day, and the dark days of winter require lights in some rooms all day long!

  3. It is such a challenge taking photos right now!! I love the slimline card, it's gorgeous and that image is gorgeous. Thanks for joining us at The Fusion Card Challenge. Claire DT

  4. Love your slimline card and that image is so fun! Especially with a vertical greeting. So well colored too! May I ask what LOTV stands for??

    1. It stands for Lili of the Valley, their digis are on Etsy. :)

  5. What a fun card Julie, the primary colours are just right for those cuties xx

  6. This is adorable! Love those critters hard at work decorating! Glad you joined us at Fusion!
