Afternoon folks. I hope I find you well in these difficult times.
Here in the UK we are in our second week of lockdown take two and crafting is keeping me sane and occupied. I must admit to retreating to the craft room with just my inks and pens for company, shutting the outside world out when I'm stressed, either that or read a good book. I would say gardening too, but at the moment its not really the weather for it, other than a bit of tidying in the herbaceous borders when the ground isn't too wet.
Anyway, as it says at the top of the post, its time for a new challenge at Color Hues. Here is my card based on the new colours.
As the challenge over at CAS Christmas is all about non traditional colours, I decided to make a Christmas card with an old Woodware bubble wreath stamp.
On a panel of white card, I stamped the outline wreath in brown and then filled in the openings with buttons, crystals and pearls from my stash, adding some brown areas with my Copics for contrast. To some I added Glossy Accents, some I left flat, again for contrast. I was quite pleased with the end result, not much of the original stamp is visible!
To complete I added a sentiment banner and a ribbon bow and hanger. The trimmed down panel was then added to a base card edged with the same dark Copic marker, it beats finding some matching card!
Please check out the rest of the DT for some fab inspiration, then why not join us?
I'd like to join in over at:-
Love this card! How fun to see buttons used again. I bet we all have a stash.
ReplyDeletePretty, even if it wouldn't be my choice of colours.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to give you something else to do with your time!
Love your little wreath created with pink and brown. Thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLove this! You've inspired me to find those buttons I've stashed away!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous button wreath! So pretty in the pinks and great job balancing the big and small! thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWhat a super take on a Christmas wreath made with buttons and gems, so eye catching, but we need to see a stamped focal image (in other words not buttons and gems) to be eligible at Stamping Sensations.

Please note that this is a stamped image from Woodware as it states in the post above. I'm not that good at arranging the elements freehand!
DeleteI adore this card!! Your wreath just JUMPED out at me. Love your use of the buttons and findings on this!!!
ReplyDeleteSo cool and creative filling your wreath in with embellishments! Beautiful card in non-traditional pink and brown colours. Thank you for joining us at CAS Christmas.

ReplyDeleteYes, I often think what on earth would I being doing during these crazy times if I didn't have my hobby! Thankful for that for sure. I should be washing windows or deep cleaning my house...but that doesn't seem to sound appealing to me. As for your fabulous buttons and pearl wreath! I absolutely love it! YOur placement of each and every element is perfection! Well done and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteA lovely card, the buttons look so sparkly against the brown stamping.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at Stamping Sensations,
