Altenew's Rose Flurries

Evening all, it's time for a new challenge over at HLS CAS. Here is my inspiration card for you.

Can you guess the theme, it's -

For my card I went with some die cut flowers, using Altenew's Rose Flurries cut from white card and coloured with Copics. I find it easier than searching out coordinating  coloured card and the results are softer as well I think. I've also used watercolour pens in the past to colour them too, but the look is a little looser. My colour choice was dictated by the photo over at JUGS and out of interest I made it under 10 mins so can enter at INKspirational too! It was easy to get under 10 mins as I had most of the elements already cut and only needed a couple of extra leaves for this design. The whole Rose Flurries set just about covers an A4 sheet so it's just easy to leave the dies on the backing sheet, moving the odd couple that are inside others, and cut them all in one go, I will always find a use for the extras, just as in this case!

I started the design with a linen base card and inked though STAMPlorations Dots all Over stencil with Fossilised Amber DOx in the top left corner, fading the colour out as I went. After arranging my blooms and gluing them down, I stamped the sentiment from Born to be Wild with Versamark on black card, heat embossing it with white EP before using an MFT banner die to cut it out and sliding it under the edge of the spray.

OK, that's all from me but check out the rest of the team and then why not join in.

  1. This looks so elegant Julie. The colours look fab, that's one of my favourite stencils in the background, and the layered roses are beautiful.

  3. Beautiful card Jules. Love the design with your dotty background and your beautiful spray of flowers. You made this in under 10 mins?? AMAZING! xx

  4. Julie, this is just beautiful. I love how you co-coordinated the colour of the card on your die with the colouring and how you arranged the part of the flowers to over hang the sentiment-a lovely grounding to the design with the dotted background. Thanks for joining Ink

  5. What a stunning arrangement. Love the pretty colour choice and such a great idea to colour each die cut piece to match...a great tip which I will never remember!! xx

  6. Gorgeous arrangement of your flowery die cuts. The colours are really pretty. The soft stencilling looks beautiful! xx
Thanks for linking up over at Inkspirational - I have seen you create cards in person so I know you would have smashed this out in under 10 minutes! Go you :)

  7. How beautiful is your die cut flower. Great tip about getting those toning colours too. And you and me are both on the same page when it comes to creating without fuss in a short amount of time!

  9. A perfect card, Julie. I love a beautiful background and amazing layered roses. I need to have a good look at how you have colorized this flower, because my roses do not look as stunning as your flowers.
