Color Hues #89

Good afternoon. My Granddaughter and Son have just gone home after a brief stay whilst mum was on a hen do, lovely to see them both. As usual we ended up playing 'Nanny hide', in other words come with me Nanny and wait in the walk in wardrobe upstairs for Gandad to find us!

Anyway it's now time to share my inspiration for the new Color Hues challenge.

I've used the sketch over at The Flower Challenge, I do love a good sketch, amongst other challenges and these Altenew Rose Flurry die cuts fit the the bill. As usual, rather that struggle to find enough graduated coloured card, I die cut all my elements from white card and coloured with Copic Markers, RV10, 11, 13 and 14 for the pink blooms and G94 and 96 for the leaves. You may recognise the net die cut from my tennis girl card from a couple of months back but this time I just added it to a plain white A6 base card in it's entirety. I've finally succumbed and got a Glimmer machine, for Christmas from the OH, and this is one of the sentiments I got with at the same time, made using some gold foil. It's a bit tricky to photograph, hence it's laid down on the windowsill to prevent the sun from making the camera and me very unhappy!
So that's it from me but please check out the rest of the DT and our guest here and then join in, we always love to see how you use the colours.

  1. Julie, I spotted our Sketch the moment I saw your CH card! So happy to have you join us again at The Flower Challenge. I couldn't agree more about those lovely roses being the perfect choice for our circles - and now I have another 'must have' die on my ever-growing list! Thanks for that, too! xx

  10. This is a fantastic card, Jules! I love that net die cut and it surely worked perfectly here to create a wonderful CAS card with the gorgeous die cut florals! Great interpretation of the sketch, too. Spending time with grandchildren is the best. We just got home from a trip to Washington, DC with our 12 year old grandson. It's our first travel adventure and we had such a good time.

  13. Beautiful roses, Julie, your coloring really makes the layers pop! I also love the netting as the horizontal strip in the sketch. Have fun with your new foiling machine! Thanks for sharing over at The Flower Challenge, I always enjoy spotting your card in the gallery.

I loved reading about the games with your grands - mine are all grown and on to their own lives; it goes by so fast!
