Stenciling with die cuts and foiling

Good evening and happy Valentines Day!
It's time for a brand new challenge at Perfectly CAS.
Here's my card for your inspiration.

So we would like you to use any shape or shapes as your focus but keep your design to just 1/3rd of the card.
My choice of shapes as you can see was hearts.

I used a homemade stencil made from an IO heart die and scrap card, adding some embossing paste to create dimension. (I must admit that I added a second layer as I thought the hearts were still a little flat looking.)
CAS Stencil are asking you to use foil so I decided to have a go. Mind you my foil is positively ancient, at least 20 years old and I found to my cost that as I was using it, it might have become a little compromised!
I used some Indigo Blu Flitter glue to attach the foil as I don't have a reliable laminator and besides I'm not sure that the foil was suitable for heat! Any how I persevered and I quite like the distressed look which resulted, instead of a silky smooth finish.
My sentiment from Uniko was added to a thin card strip and heat embossed with gold EP.

The photography of foil is notoriously difficult but the textured surface added extra twinkle!

For more shape inspired CAS inspiration, check out the rest of the team here.

I'm joining in over at:-

                                                      Foiling, embossing paste,
                                                   heat embossing
For your blog
Love
