Uniko 8th Birthday Linky Party and Blog Hop

This month Uniko turns EIGHT and to celebrate we have a month full of fun in store, with a new release at the end of the month and bags of inspiration from the Uniko Brand Ambassadors.

Today we are kicking off the celebrations with a linky party, what's a birthday without a party?
We had lots of success with the last three Birthday Linky Parties, so it's become a tradition to celebrate this way.

All you have to do is create a birthday card, any theme, any style and using any product you like then link it up via the linky on the Uniko blog. You don't have to have a blog to enter, you can link your card from your Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or as with all challenges you can email Bev with your entry too.

You don't have to use Uniko products, but it would be great if you did. It's lovely to see you using your Uniko stash, including Uniko Digital Freebies or ones from Magazine Features plus there is an extra opportunity to win a prize if you do!

So to start here is my birthday inspired card.

This is a take on a technique I saw on You Tube by the talented Jennifer McGuire that I've wanted to try for awhile.
It's a very simple OL card involving masking and repeat stamping.
To start I stamped the cosmos stems from Pure Forals Cosmos to make a mask for the flowers from a couple of full sticky Post It notes. An A6 white card panel was placed in the MISTI and then stamped the flowers and sentiment from the same set in black. Removing the flowers but keeping the sentiment in the same place in my MISTI, I placed the mask over the stamped blooms and started stamping the sentiment in pale lilac, moving the card panel 1/4" up or down each time until I was satisfied with the coverage.
The mask was then removed and the blooms coloured them with Copics.

Need a little more incentive to join in on the fun? How about some prizes...

  1. What a pretty card Julie, lovely design. I am so glad that you explained the process, I was wondering how the repeat message was so straight!! I would have been measuring and cursing trying to line it up with a stamping block!! I forget all about my stamping platform except for stamping one image!! xx
