STAMPlorations April theme/sketch challenge

Good afternoon friends.
It's the first Friday of the month so it's time for a brand new theme/sketch challenge at STAMPlorations.

Here is my card for your inspiration.

For this I used the theme and the sketch but you can choose either as well, it's all down to you.

Remember my card from Wednesday? Well here is version 2 or should I say how to make up for a howler of a mistake!
I made a panel for my card on Wednesday, all done and dusted then I decided to use a stitched rectangle die before attaching it to my base card but as they are American dies I needed to extend it to match our card sizes. It's easy really if the border is quite plain, the wonky ones are a different matter. Anyway I was daydreaming and forgot to stop before I got to the end of the cut and ended up with a panel that was too small and the masked butterfly in the wrong place. So I started again as you can see.
I was reluctant to throw the finished panel away as I really liked the colours so I traced around my mask on some white scrap card and fussy cut it. I then glued it over the original masked space to block out the sentiment. Then on a scrap of vellum I stamped the largest of the Trendy Butterflies 2 and embossed with white EP. and fussy cut it out.
Using the middle Crazy Double Running Stitch nested rectangle die, I trimmed my panel of butterflies from Trendy Butterflies down and attached it at an angle, I know it's the opposite to the sketch I realised after the glue had set! Folding the vellum butterfly in half I ran a thin line of glue along the body and glued it over the flat white one. The sentiment I used is from a Stamp Club set, Life in Full Color, it's first outing and rather appropriate I thought.

For more inspiration check out the STAMPlorations blog where you will also find all Ts and Cs. Don't forget that if your project has wings on it link up here as well.

As to the contractors doing something about the access track to our house, sadly nothing to report really. No sign of anyone on site yesterday and the digger disappeared this morning. The bits are still in the layby and the water is still sheeting across the lane. It is a good job we have had a mild winter here as if the water had frozen it would have been a bit of a skating rink as since the 'repair' last week, water that was flowing down one side is now running across the whole of the steep section of the lane!

I'd like to join in over at:-

IT'S HERE! April 1-11, 2017

The stamps are new to me and I did make a bit of a blooper! Happily I managed to turn it around!

  1. I hereby designate you as Blogland's Repair and Recovery Depot!! You worked magic here!! I had a bit of a chuckle over your daydreaming. You need to get yourself a hamster! Every time I go near the BS, I whistle for Hammy. He listens patiently as I explain the manhoover I want to execute and then he crawls up on my shoulder, ready to pounce on my nose if I go awry. (Trust me, I've got a lot of scratches on my nose, lol!) You know how gobsmacked I was by your card yesterday and I have to say my reaction to this "save" is just the same! It is absolutely smashing, Jules! Thank you so much for joining in my NBUS Challenge #11 and being a good sport to share your day-dreaming blooper!! Hugs, Darnell
