Good morning and welcome to day 2 of the introductions for Uniko's January release.
Today we are focusing on another Ink n Flip stencil design, Heart Pattern.
I had quite the play with this stencil creating lots of panels with my Geli plate. These two cards came from just one of them!
I have to admit that I got a bit carried away playing with my Gelli plate, even if I haven't worked out why it's marked! To start, I chose a selection of Distress Oxides to blend onto my plate, Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral, and Picked Raspberry. I think my first pull was a mix of Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry, followed by my stencil and a panel of copy paper, I wasn't going to use this pull. Once the stencil was removed, I added a panel of white card and took a print. The resulting print had a ghostly outline of half the pattern and a lovely textured background. I then went back in with my now clean stencil and added some Worn Lipstick to the ghost pattern then flipped and added what I thought was Candied Apple, to complete the heart pattern. However it wasn't, it was Vintage Photo on my brush so I had to carry on and complete the panel, I quite liked the end result, not brown but a bit rusty red!!
To make these two cards, I die cut a 4 x 4 panel from the stencilling, then with an assortment of different sized heart dies. At first I thought about popping up the hearts but liked the look of the appertures when overlaid on another Geli plate pull, definitely Candied Apple with a touch of Worn Lipstick. A larger panel this time of Abandoned Coral and Worn Lipstick was the added to a 5 x 5 white card, followed by my heart panel on the red. A simple gold embossed sentiment, Everyday Spring Sentiments and some gold mirror dots complete.
The die cut hearts from the first panel were mounted onto some matching red fun foam ones and added to a Geli plate panel which I'd made with the Scattered Polka Hearts stencil and mounted on some gold mirror card. A fussy cut gold embossed sentiment from Wonderful Day and more of the gold mirror dots completes.
Two different looks from the one panel!!
Anyway that's a couple of ideas, but what have the rest of the ambassadors been up to? Check out their blogs for for ideas, links below.
