Color Hues #124

Good afternoon and Happy New Year!! Hope you all had a fabulous holiday period.

The first of the month sees a brand new colour duo from Color Hues. This time Bonnie has chosen
colours that she sees at this time of year, the red berries and the grey, leafless trees. Here's my take.

I've been catching up over Christmas with a programme in the UK about knitting, Game of Wool. It's introduced by Olympic gold medal diver, Tom Daley, who is famous for his love of knitting. So with all things knitted on my mind, I decided to play with one of my favourite die sets that I haven't used in a while, MFT's Zipper and combine it with a cable EF, no idea of make, to create a faux knitted zipped cardie. Who doesn't love a cosy winter jumper?!

I created a panel of grey and red stripes from some scraps and embossed it using my EF. Doh!! I should have cut the panels first before embossing but I think I just about got away with it, the embossing isn't as sharp as when I embossed it originally, the plates squashing the embossing a little,  but I think it still works.
Once my zipped jumper was created, I added a faux T-shirt with a scrap of linen effect white card and a sentiment from another MFT set Road Trip, which I cut from the same silver card as the zip, replacing the silver lettering with red ones.
Once complete all I had to do was add it to a white A6 top fold note card.

So where will this colour combo take you? Over on the Color Hues blog the rest of the DT and our wonderful guests, Lisa E. and Barb F., have come up with fabulous inspiration for you.

See you in the gallery!
