I Hope You Feel Beautiful Today

Hi and welcome.

It's the middle of the month so time for a brand new colour combo from Color Hues! Here's my take on Kristie's choice of colours.

You can see from this that I'm still in strip mode, paper that is! I made a decision at the beginning of lockdown to try to use my stock of bits and bobs up and not buy more stash, well other than white for card bases, I have managed to stay true. Using strips to make a background is a great way to use those odds and ends but it still leaves me with a mountain of coloured card and DP to use.

Taking a selection of pinks and purple card from my stash, I cut 1cm strips and arranged them onto a scrap of thin card, then using my PoppyStamps Lorelai leaf die, I cut 4 from a scrap panel of white card. These I layered up and placed the finished leaf spray over the top of my trimmed down panel. On a piece of black card, I stamped this sentiment from Altenew and heat embossed with white EP.

To finish the card, I added the center panel to an A6 card base and popped the sentiment strip on pads over the top.

So where will these new colours take you? So far you haven't disappointed us but if you need that extra input, why not check out the rest of the team here.

  1. This is gorgeous! I too have been trying to use my older stuff since this strange time began - but I still have so much! lol Love all the shades of our two colours you put together and the stacked white die cut is perfect over top.

  2. I have all my paper scraps in file folders, and try to use them regularly. Nonetheless, I don't think I'll see the end of them anytime soon. I love all the beautiful pinks and purples you've chosen, and that white die cut just pops on top of them! Such a great technique for the color challenge!

  3. Pretty card and your shades of colors go just perfect together! Way to stick with your goal of using up those pieces that are too good to toss. I couldn't agree with you more on your comment you left on my blog...It is truly amazing how we all take totally different avenues when it comes to just two colors. That is one reason out of many I love this challenge and team. Have a wonderful day!

  4. I love your shades of purples and pinks. Great way to use up those scraps! Have a great week!

  5. Beautiful encouragement card! I love the color scheme, that pop of blue really makes the card! Thank you for joining us at Time Out!

  6. Crushing over your lovely strips background; a perfect canvas for your pretty Lorelai leaf!

  7. Very beautiful and elegant card. The color combo looks great! Great to see you in the ATSM gallery. Hope to see you again very soon! Nandini, DT

  8. Our DT loved your beautiful design and selected it for an honourable mention in our TIME OUT Brave challenge - congratulations and we hope to see you playing along with us in future TO challenges :)
