Fairy Wishes

Good morning and welcome.
Posting on a Thursday morning is still a little strange for me as Wednesday is usually a time for house work followed by craft class so card making for myself takes a back seat but with the new challenge blog Cardz4Galz I better get used to it.
Thank you all for supporting our first challenge, the results of which can be found here, it's now time for a new one. This week we would like to see your feminine creations on the theme of -

FAIRIES

A very girly subject so once again a little out of my comfort zone! Anyway as Ben has depleted the stash of  cards for girls with his hectic social whirl, I thought I would make one for future use!

I used a LOTV fairy image but gave it my CAS treatment. As always I was stumped for focus so I used a couple of challenges. 

The colours are from Without Words and the layout from Mojo Monday, rotated 90degrees.

As usual I used Copics to colour and then added a tiny bit of Stickles on her head dress, even the bodies on the butterflies are green and purple, gives a kind of brown! The sentiment tag is also from LOTV and I used some linen thread from the stash to finish.

Jewel Colours

Hi, and welcome to a scheduled post to let you know about the latest challenge over at Addicted to Stamps. This week it is our photo inspiration challenge and this is my card.

This is the photo that inspired it.

Now I'm not a great fan of Halloween, so I ignored the pumpkins and went with the stripes in jewel colours as my inspiration.

I had a great time at the stamp fair at Port Sunlight on Saturday. I met a few bloggy friends and spent quite a bit and one of my purchases was this butterfly image from Visible image, Butterfly INKognito, I had seen it in a magazine before and was tempted to indulge!

To achieve the striped effect I inked the butterfly image with DI's to match the colours in the photo masking as I went. I spritzed the inked stamp to make the colours come to life then stamped it onto a white panel. The feint texture on the butterfly is a left over from a previous experiment but I liked the effect so went with it, the sentiment I used is from this weeks sponsor,

who are offering a 10$ gift certificate to the winner chosen by the DT.

The stamped panel was mounted on black then a bright pink base card.

Dapper Gent

Good morning fellow crafters. As it's Tuesday it must mean it's time for a new challenge over at Cardz4Guyz, where we aim to show you that making cards for the men in your life is easier than you think.

This week week our theme is -

BUTTON UP

Lots of scope there I think, here is my card for the DT.

I've used a NEBUS stamp set that I picked up on holiday last year in Cromer, Norfolk.

It's a Papermania one from their Dapper Gent collection. I also bought some of the matching papers so I used one of them for the jacket and the shirt was stamped on some yellow in the stash. I paper pieced the jacket and shirt but decided to use a piece of ribbon and tied it just like a proper tie instead of the stamp from the set. I also used some real buttons rather than the stamped ones, but as I hadn't any in the colour I wanted I used a brown Copic to colour some small pale blue ones. I popped the breast pocket, collar, lapels and the finished jacket up on pads for more dimension. The finished image was mounted on a piece of blue card, then onto a white base card, the sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

A new Sketch

Good afternoon and welcome to a post to remind you that there is a new challenge over at STAMPlorations. As of the last couple of months we have amalgamated the sketch and theme challenges. I've gone with just the sketch for my card for the DT.

As I've only just made a card with this theme I thought I would stick with just the sketch, but you can go for either, both or one of each, it's all down to you.

A pretty literal interpretation of the sketch from me this month. I had so many different ideas for this sketch I couldn't decide what to settle on, so I turned to a couple of challenges to focus my mind.

I decided to make another Christmas card using a few small stamps from  Dee's Artsy Impressions 'Party Mates' and Christmas Bell Medley plus Holiday Sketches Christmas Candles, using the colours from Merry Monday and the recipe from Less is More, use something shiny. The polka dots on the pressie also matches the challenge over at CAS on Sunday. Copics were used to colour the stamped images before fussy cutting and arranging on the card base, job done.

New Challenge

Good morning folks and welcome to the start of a brand new challenge blog.

Today we have our first challenge over at Cardz4Galz,

 we would like to see your feminine creations based on -

YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR

If anyone looks around our new home they could probably tell you that my colours of the moment are shades of magenta with a splash of lime green, with the occasional splash of purple for good measure. So here is my DT inspiration card.

I used my favourite daisy stamp from STAMPlorations and stamped and then embossed them in white before using DI to wash in some colour, the layout was down to the latest challenge over at The Paper Players. I was was undecided over the colour of the base card but eventually I went with kraft and so the burlap strip and bow more or less chose themselves. The lace trim was made using a border punch from Martha Stewart.
