By the River

Good morning. Are you looking forward to the Bank Holiday at the end if the week? It's taken me a little time to get my head around the new dates, being retired I no longer have work to hang my calendar on! I even thought it was Monday the other day when it was just Sunday! Anyway, hopefully we will be visited on BH Thursday by our new granddaughter and her parents and the sun will shine!

As it's Tuesday it's time for a new challenge at Cardz4Guyz. This week it was my choice and I went with:-

I thought there was plenty of scope there, boats, river or sea, wildlife or just messing about like the little guy in this card.

I used one of my earliest purchases from Lili of the Valley, By the River. He's an unmounted rubber stamp so to use him in my MISTI, I have to glue him to the plate with a touch of Pritt stick or the like.
After colouring him with Copics, I fussy cut him out and put him to one side.
To create the card, I used some A4 white card, made an A6 base card and used half of the leftover to create the top panel, which I die cut with a circle die to create the aperture.
Using my MFT cloud stencil and some ink already on my blue blending brush, I inked in the background onto the base card, careful not to take it right to the edge.
The fussy cut image was then added to the top panel and the whole added to my inked base card. The Uniko sentiment was added to complete.
So where will the theme take you? I'd love to see your take in the gallery, there's plenty of inspiration over on the Cardz4Guyz blog page if you need it!

  1. Great choice!! You picked a fun one!! I love all things water so this one made me happy and was easy to create for!! Your card is adorable....that stamp set is so fun...your coloring is fantastic...AWESOME!! Great inspiration to those who play along with our new "on the water" challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz!!

  2. Brilliant colouring of this lovely scene Julie. With a Bank Holiday looming we couldn't understand why the phones weren't ringing off the hooks at work yesterday. On ringing from my own mobile to check the system I quickly realised that the phone message had been pre-set thinking it was the Late Spring Bank Holiday!! That's digital phone technology for you. Needless to say once that little problem was sorted the peace did not last!! We have a largely aged population here and speaking to or seeing a Doctor is an essentail part of their week. Enjoy your new Granddaughter x

  3. This is just stunning. I love your beautiful colouring and the way the water runs out from your frame. Love Dawn x

  4. LOVE this sweet card Jules. Great colouring ... you've really brought this little guy to life. And I love the design with the circle cut out and fussy-cutting the image. Awesome! xx

  5. Cute card!
