June Challenge @HLS Dies

Good evening and welcome to a post to announce the start of our second challenge over at HLS.
As always our theme is

Just make your dies the center of your project.
Here is my inspiration for you.

I was looking through a box of made cards and came across this card that I made a couple of years ago. (here)

I couldn't remember when I made it so went looking back and couldn't believe it was so long ago!

The little strip of DP is from some that my best friend Di gave me, I think it is the same set as the butterfly paper I used with the die cut flowers so I decided to flip the focus to a die cut butterfly. I also decoded to leave the ribbon off and place the panel flat on the card.
Dies used for this are-
Memory Box - Pippi Butterfly, Isabella Butterfly and Fresh Foliage.
The tiny butterfly is a Hobbycraft punch.
I washed a mix of Wilted Violet and Salty Ocean DI over my panel of white card and also over the Isabella butterfly as well as adding a few splashes for interest. When dry I stamped the SU greeting, added the fresh foliage and glued the Pippi butterfly over the coloured one and arranged it and the other and sequins on the panel. The strip of DP was glued in place followed by the finished panel.

There's so much more inspiration over at the HLS site so pop along there  and have a look.

I'd like to join in over at -

  2. Gorgeous card Jules. Love that beautiful watercoloured bacgkround with the splatters. Your layered butterfly is so pretty! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx

  3. I love both of your cards, Julie! The blue and violet wash is gorgeous and the pretty foliage works beautifully on it! Love the butterfly too! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Mix Up!

  4. So soft and delicate! I love the blue!

  5. Wonderful CASE of your prior card - even then you were a stellar card maker!

  6. Love this one Julie, the blue was background looks perfect for the white die cuts xx

  7. I love both of these Julie, especially the stunning blue x

  8. Simply gorgeous, Julie ... the crisp white die cut blooms are fabulous against the soft blue watercolouring ... and that butterfly with the hint of background lilac is beautiful! Anita :)

  9. Love the cool center splash of color with the dimension of the slender twigs atop the color. The lacey lavendar butterfly is the perfect companion to these twigs, and the spatters are placed so well (and add even more texture! ) TFS

  10. So pretty...the colors and so much to look at. Well done.

  11. Beautiful splash of Distress Ink behind the lovely arrangement of die cuts! Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Mix Up.
