More dimensional die cuts

Good evening peeps.
It's been a busy week or two in the craft room and I'm back again, this time with my inspiration card for my stint over as the party guest at Seize the Birthday.
This week we are having a no toppings week, so anything birthday goes!
Here's is my card.

I saw this card on FB and loved the way die cuts were layered with background stamping, this is my take on it.
The stamped foliage is in a pale grey, Altenew's Silver Stone, using their Wildflower Garden stamps and the layered die cut roses and leaves, Rose Flurries, are coloured with my Zig watercolour brushes and blended with a waterbrush where needed. I added detail to the leaves with a dark grey pen before washing over with the same colour, which adds just the right amount of detail. The pinks of the roses are watered down versions of the darker pinky background reds, just sqiggle a pen onto an acrylic block and lift off with a waterbrush.
My white embossed, black, die cut banner, was stamped with Uniko's Birthday Sentiments and popped up on pads.

So for more birthday inspired treats, check out the rest of the STB team and join in!

  3. Wow, wow, beautiful! I find it so hard to break out of the "realistic" colours mode, so am extra-impressed by how terrific the background foliage looks in greys.
