It's Beginning To Look Like... Uniko October/November Reveal, Release, Brand Ambassador Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Good morning, time for a few more ideas using the stamps from the new release which are available on the Uniko page now.

My first card is simply another way to use the Framed Fairy Lights.

Once the lights were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white EP, I added dark blue watercolour to the background and coloured the lights with Zig markers. The panel was trimmed to the edge of the embossed frame and added to a note card, a simple white embossed sentiment from the set completes.

My second card uses the BB Snow Flurry and Christmas Pop stamp sets to create this little scene.

The Trees were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white EP before cutting out, the snow flurry was simply stamped in dark blue ink and cut to leave a small border. A small panel of matching white card was scored using a scoreboard and added to the Snow Flurry panel and the trees added on top. The sentiment from Peace on Earth was with Versamark and Silver EP.

This next card was inspired by a comment my daughter made when she was over about it being the lines of a carol so why not include some music in the design.

On a panel of white card I stamped the JOY from Big n Bold with Versamark and heat embossed with gold EP. I then added the text and music in black and a couple of holly sprigs for added festive charm. I hope I haven't infringed any copyrights with my stamped snippet of score!!

My final card uses that fab poinsettia stamp.

I have to admit that this should have been used in a card earlier this week but life got in the way as well as an inky splat on the OLC I was making!! Anyway I decided I had spent too much effort on colouring it to not make a card and while pondering what to do I came across the Case a DT member at JUGS. When I saw Elizabeth's card I knew I could use my poinsettia!
I used the same orientation as her card, the circle aperture, the floral motif, red and green colours along with gold embossing on the flowers but put my own spin on it.
I stamped the poinsettia with  Altenew Silver Stone ink first as I wanted to colour it with Copic markers and they don't mix well with EP, so I left the stamp in my MISTI whilst I coloured it.
Once coloured, I placed it back into the MISTI and stamped over it with Versamark and embossed with gold EP and fussy cut it out, that got rid of the red inky splodge!
The top panel I had in my stash and I used the Festive Foliage stencil to emboss a panel to put behind the opening. The Merry, instead of a die cut, was stamped, embossed with gold EP and fussy cut and the Christmas part stamped onto the embossed panel.
My fussy cut poinsettia was added to the aperture so that a few sepals were hanging over the edge and then the whole panel was added onto a base card with foam tape. I know the original card had layers of die cuts to give dimension but you can't do that with fussy cutting so easily, the foam pads have the same effect.

So that's all from me but please check out the rest of the team to see what they've been up to. Don't forget to leave some love along the way for a chance to win the entire release!!! The winner will be announced on November 11th 2024.

So what do you think about the new release? Looking forward to seeing what you all think in the comments!

It's Beginning To Look Like... Introducing Uniko's Background Blocks Snow Flurry

Good morning. As I mentioned yesterday, we are launching a brand new addition to the Background Blocks series, Snow Flurry. Here's what I've made with it.

My first card uses Christmas Pop set against an aperture with the BB Snow Flurry in the background.

On some white card, I stamped the block with Altenew's Turquoise ink and the trees with their Limeade ink. The trees were fussy cut and the BB panel added onto an A6 note card so that it fit under my die cut aperture panel. The layout loosely matches the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, squished down! The snowdrift was cut freehand from some scrap and as I had the Peace on Earth set out I used that for a simple greeting. The trees and snowdrift were arranged around the opening and the top panel added with some foam tape.

My second card is a simple shaker card.

This time the BB Snow Flurry was stamped onto a scrap of white and put to one side whilst I made my shaker element. I cut an MFT frame from white card and glued some acetate from some packaging to it. When dry, I ran my anti static bag over the acetate then added some foam tape before turning it over and adding some glitter, beads and a few die cut snowflakes. The panel was then cut to size and added to seal it all in. The shaker element was then added to a white base card that I'd already stamped the sentiment in matching ink to.

So that's all from me for today but please check out what the rest of the team have been up to.

It's Beginning To Look Like... Reintroducing Uniko's Christmas Pop

Morning all.
Today we are reintroducing the Christmas Pop stamp set. So rather than go for a straightforward stamped image I went for this as my idea.

A couple of years ago I used the Christmas Pop stencil to create these cards but this time I've used the outline image from the stamp set.

The tree outline was stamped with a pale ink, I used Altenew's Limestone, on some mixed Media paper and then I added some plain water to the triangular part of the image, followed quickly by three shades of green watercolour paint and let the water move the colour around. When the paint was dry I repeated the technique with brown for the trunk. Once completely dry, I added the gold embossed lines and star with Versamark and Gold EP plus an embossed sentiment from Peace on Earth.

That's all from me for the time being but why not check out what the rest of the team and our guest Natalia have been up to.

Simple Watercoloured Trees

Good morning, I'm up over at Uniko today with a little bit of artsy Christmas card BA inspiration using Christmas Pop Trio stencil and Christmas Pop stamp set.

I've used the simple outline from the stencil to draw the triangle with a soft pencil and some freehand drawn pots to create these little water coloured trees.

Here's a close up of them all, and a link to the Uniko site for all the details on how I made them.

Kraft, Red and White - Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration

Morning all. I'm over at Uniko with another Festive Friday post.

This month I've been inspired by the colours over at CAS Christmas, where they are also celebrating their 3rd birthday, can you believe it? Why don't you grab yourself a cuppa, then head over to the Uniko blog for some festive kraft and red inspiration and details on the makes.

This card uses the Christmas Pop trees as well as BB Falling Snow and a freebie snow stencil from a magazine. A trio of red gems and a scrap of matching NitWits DP complete.

I've used Background Builders Christmas 2018 before to make a plaid pattern, here I've used a panel of kraft card, red ink, a white gel pen and a black fine liner to make a panel to cut my letters from.

You can't get much simpler than this card, Festive Sentiments Outlined and Framed - Holly stamped and embossed in white EP and 3 tiny red crystals for the red berries on an A6 kraft base card.

Fooling the eye with Uniko's Christmas Pop

Hi peeps.
Today sees the start of a brand new challenge at Cardz4Guyz -

TRIANGLES

I went with a Christmas theme!

Using Uniko's Christmas Pop stamp set and some rainbow coloured inks makes this OL card, really quick and simple. Your eye is fooled into thinking that these simple triangles are trees by the addition of a star atop and the fact that we assume that Christmas trees are roughly this shape!
More details on the stamp set and ink colours can be found on the Uniko blog.
More triangle inspiration from the DT can be found on the Cardz4Guyz challenge blog.
