Just to Say ..

Good morning folks, it's time for a new challenge at Cardz4Guyz.
This time our theme for your masculine makes is:-

Sunrise or Sunset

Here's my CAS card using what could be either! We've had some corking sunrise and sunsets here over the years. In fact just the other week I woke up to see a fantastic one, even made up for the fact it was nearer to 4 than 5 o'clock!

I started by blending some sunset/sunrise DIs on a panel of white card. First I added some Mustard Seed then after adding circle of masking paper, added Carved Pumpkin and Ripe Persimmon, with a touch of Hickory Smoke and Chipped Sapphire to the top edge, most of which I later cut away!
Next, keeping the mask in place, I stamped my Uniko BB Rays with Versamark and heat embossed with semi dull WOW EP.
Using a STAMPlorations landscape die, I cut a panel from black card, adding a white embossed sentiment. My first thoughts were to use a white panel of card to sit in front of my sunrise/sunset but after looking at it, I went with a black one! I think it shows off the glow in the sky a little better.
I used a pretty general sentiment as it could be used for many occasions with the addition of a greeting on the inside of the card.
To complete, the two panels were added flat onto an A6 card base.
So where will this theme take you? If you need more inspiration then please check out the rest of the team here.

Color Hues #93

Good afternoon.
Are we already half way through August already? Well as it's time for a new colour duo from Color Hues we must be. For this challenge, Tracey has chosen to go with a sunny vibe to her colours and this is what I came up with.

To start, I decided on the image, Stampingbella, and then rooted through my DP to find some in the correct colours, cut to the same size as the image, then used them to choose the correct Copics to colour it. These scraps of DP are Papermania and are amongst the first DPs I ever bought, so long ago I can't remember when but must be nearly 20 years ago!
After colouring the two girls, I decided I needed to colour the background but still keep to the rules, so chose a neutral grey. The sentiment is from an MFT set, Picture Perfect and I thought it went well. It was just too large to fill the gap in the polaroid frame, so cut it in two, adding the thin strip to the polaroid and mounting the larger element on black and placing under the image. I think the black makes it stand out just the right amount. A few Copic coloured pearls complete the design.

So where will this new colour combo take you? As usual the rest of the girls have some fabulous inspiration for you on the blog here.
We can't wait to see where these colours will take you.

To the Top

Good morning, time for a brand new challenge at Cardz4Guyz
This time we would like to see your take on the theme of:-

CAMPING/OUTDOORS

I knew straight away which image I was going to use, the cute To the Top from LOTV. Here's what I ended up with.

I started by printing off the image and colouring him with Copics before fussy cutting. The colours are always dictated by the DP I use, some scraps of NitWits DP in this case. I used one of my fave layouts adding the MFT circle frame over the top of my hiker and fixing with foam pads. A simple LOTV sentiment completes.
So where will the new challenge take you? As always we love to see your makes in the gallery over at the Cardz4Guyz blog.

Color Hues #92

Good afternoon.
It's the 1st of the month so it must mean there's a new colour duo from Color Hues.
When I saw the pairing I decided to abandon the floral route and dig around in my stash for something suitable and found this ancient PB image on a wooden block I picked up in a bargain bucket over 5 years ago and not used! Here's what I came up with.

I've been following the latest series from Penny Black and Jill Foster, Permission to Play, on You Tube. Whilst I don't like all of the sketches, the first one was just the right one for these two characters!

Firstly I removed the stamp from the block, a lot easier that I expected, it really must be an old one, 2009 when I looked! The sticky was still active, it fit into the MISTI without anything else, so I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic friendly card and coloured the image with Copics.

I wasn't sure what sort of sentiment to add, so another trawl through the stash brought me to this one from an Altenew set. My BFF used to be my badminton partner so the image reminded me of our league playing days, which are sadly long since past, but she's been persuaded to take up Crown Green Bowls by a mutual badminton playing friend and although initially she didn't 'get' it, she's persevered and is now playing matches. Well the long and short of it is the sentiment was a nod to what really made her happy back in the day, not that these critters would win many matches holding their racquets like that!

I followed the sketch from Jill, embossing a panel of pink card with a large dot EF of unknown make and inking with Picked Raspberry DI, added it to a base card along with the coloured panel.

So where will the colours take you? As usual the girls have some fab inspiration over on the Color Hues blog, should you need it. We'd love to see what you make of this new colour pair.
