CAS Christmas take two

Good morning fellow bloggers. I hope I find you well.
Have you finished all your card making for the Christmas period? If not why not join us at Fantasy Stampers for our CAS Christmas challenge, just the chance to make a quick card before the deadline for posting!
Here is a card that I rustled up from odds and sods from the bits box with a nod to a couple of challenges.

I think that using a challenge or two to focus the brain is a good idea.
The tag was stamped with Stampendous Christmas Background in DI then inked to give a bit of a vintage feel. The poinsettia was cut using a Lea'bilities die and edged in more DI.
I splashed a bit of water on the tag to give it a further aged look and splattered a bit of DI as well onto the base card. I also added some stars and sequins from the stash. The greeting was stamped then embossed in gold.
I shall enter the following challenges:-

Virginia's View -  All things distressed

Thanks for popping around.
Don't forget Fantasy Stampers is just a regular stamping challenge, no digis allowed!

Muse #97 and DT vote

Good afternoon peeps.
The sun is shining and the wind has dropped so it feels a lot milder than the last couple of days.
Hope the 'weather bomb' hasn't wreaked too much havoc where you are. Not sure where that term came from, just looked like an intense Atlantic low to me on the weather map, newspapers looking for a headline probably.

It's time for the vote for the new DT member over at MUSE as well as a new challenge. I was saddened to hear that there may have been some dodgy voting over the last few weeks. One of the best things about Muse is that its the followers that vote for the best card designs and it relies on the integrity of us all to follow the rules and not distort the vote. I hope it has been sorted as I really believe in the challenge and it would be sad to see it spoilt.

On another sad note, the reason why they are having a DT call is that Therese is leaving and this is her last MUSE inspiration, so I had to find a way to take part. So enough blather, here it is -

and here is Therese's card

I love the comedic aspect of this card, but I haven't got a stamp remotely like this so I went with a Christmas theme, keeping to the colour scheme and using a Polaroid die cut to make the shaker.
I'd not used this die before, its from Kaisercraft, and the sides are a little thin to use as a shaker so I had to cut the tape very thinly !
I was going to put the doggy inside the shaker, but I decided to put a little bit of scenery in the background as the space looked too empty and the doggy on the outside. He is part of a set from LOTV which I coloured with Copics. I filled the shaker with some snowflakes, sequins and beads before mounting on a white base card that I embossed using my Cuttlebug snow folder. The clouds sort of balanced the design, I used a Joy die to cut them and glued them over the corner.

OK, that's about it, thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings.

Photo Inspiration

Good evening, this is a scheduled post as hopefully I will be asleep when the challenge goes live in Australia! This week at ATSM the theme is our photo inspiration. This is what I came up with -

and this is the photo

Now as soon as I saw the image of the wreath, I knew which stamp I was going to use for this but I sort of went off piste with the interpretation as you can see.
The stamp is from a Woodware set, as is the greeting. I stamped the wreath then added a selection of buttons, candi, sequins, Stickles, gems and Copic colour to the outline then added a matching bow and a panel of paper. I've used this layout a few times over the years using different colourways. I think I saw the original in a mag a few years ago.
This time I used the colour palette from the latest challenge over at Less is More which matches my card theme for this year of mainly blue and white, as opposed to the traditional colours of the photo.

So come on over and join us in our latest challenge, check out the rest of the DTs fantastic inspiration. We are sponsored by

I shall enter the following challenges as well :-
Clear it out Challenge- Blue + ribbon /twine
AAA Cards - Winter Blues

Winter Critters

Hi again and thanks for coming around again.
As it's Tuesday it means a new challenge at Cardz4Guyz. This week we would like to see your projects showing -

WINTER CRITTERS

So, anything that is typically a winter creature or even a creature doing wintry things. This is the route I went down with my inspiration card.

The image is from Nellie Snellen and the layout is from the challenge over at Sketch Saturday.

I kept the palette pretty simple just giving it a flash of red on the scarf. There are no backing papers, I used a few embossing folders to give it a bit of depth and interest without loosing the wintry feel. The sentiment is from LOTV and the name hand written. Snow was added using chunky white embossing powder with a touch of Stickles on the tail.
That's about it. Pop over to the main blog for more inspiration from the team and join us with your male oriented projects.
I shall also enter the following challenges:-
Allsorts - Animal Magic
Loves Rubber Stamps - Winter or Christmas Theme

Neon Colours

Good morning folks.
This is the first of a triple post Tuesday so stay close!
Another month has whizzed by so it's time for a new challenge over at Cards und More.
This time we would like to see your projects in -

NEON COLOURS

Now that had me scratching my head. I tried a few things out before I remembered a stamp set I picked up years ago on a jaunt to Skipton with my friend Di. She was mad keen on using the stamps by Blonde Moments, so when I saw this I thought why not, it was also in the post Christmas bargain bin and you know me and a bargain!

I only used the fairy lights part of the set which is called 'Merry and Bright' on this design. They are quite chunky to stamp and easy to colour using Copics in Neon Colours! Looking through my sentiments, I decided to go with my Go Create 'Happy Christmas'. I was going to colour it in matching colours but in the end I liked it white and went with that.
I had a couple of challenges to steer me in the right direction for the design.

and Without Words - Christmas (Modern look)

So why not pop over to the main site and check out the rest of the DT's inspiration and have a go.
See you back here in an hour for the next challenge at Cardz4Guyz!
