Holiday at ATSM

Hi and welcome to my late night post for Addicted to Stamps and More.
This week our theme is -

HOLIDAY

This is my card which is based on one by the lovely Loll Thompson (here).

I used my Sizzix panel die to cut the holographic Jali panel which I placed flat on a plain white base card. The Christmas baubles are from this weeks sponsor's STAMPlorations digi collection. I fussy cut them after colouring using Copics and silver embossing powder. The sentiment was cut from a Go Kreate die in white then coloured in Copics to match the dark blue bauble. The stars from the original stamp were cut away and replaced with a selection of pearls and sequins.

As I mentioned we are sponsored this week by
The winner will win a 10$ gift certificate for their store.

Pop over to the main ATSM site and check out the rest of the DT's fabulous inspiration and then join us this week.

I shall also join in at the following challenges-

52 Christmas Card Throwdown - Sequins and Pearls

ABC  Christmas Challenge - D is for Die Cut

Neon Colours

Good morning folks.
This is the first of a triple post Tuesday so stay close!
Another month has whizzed by so it's time for a new challenge over at Cards und More.
This time we would like to see your projects in -

NEON COLOURS

Now that had me scratching my head. I tried a few things out before I remembered a stamp set I picked up years ago on a jaunt to Skipton with my friend Di. She was mad keen on using the stamps by Blonde Moments, so when I saw this I thought why not, it was also in the post Christmas bargain bin and you know me and a bargain!

I only used the fairy lights part of the set which is called 'Merry and Bright' on this design. They are quite chunky to stamp and easy to colour using Copics in Neon Colours! Looking through my sentiments, I decided to go with my Go Create 'Happy Christmas'. I was going to colour it in matching colours but in the end I liked it white and went with that.
I had a couple of challenges to steer me in the right direction for the design.

and Without Words - Christmas (Modern look)

So why not pop over to the main site and check out the rest of the DT's inspiration and have a go.
See you back here in an hour for the next challenge at Cardz4Guyz!

MUSE #94

Afternoon folks, hope you're keeping well.
The afternoon's are getting shorter as the year moves towards Christmas. I needed the lights on in my craftroom before 3pm, but it is a bit misty out there today.
As regular followers may know, I love to take part in a couple of challenges on a regular basis, namely MUSE and Less is More.
This week Less is More want more than one tree on your project and and at MUSE the designer is Marion. So without further ado here is my card.

and here is Marion's card.

I love this built up technique and I've tried it once before but I wanted to have another go.
However a couple of problems-
1. I don't have many large script dies, well one actually and it wasn't appropriate!
2. I don't have a balloon stamp or die

So what to do? I had a bit of a think and decided to go with a Christmas theme and link to the Less is More challenge, hence the trees and use my 'Happy Christmas' die. This posed a further headache as it is an old one that cuts out a sentiment but you can't separate the two words as they are a solid plate die and leaves an imprint of the edge of the die if you are not very careful! Go with the full phrase was the decision. Anyway you can see the result. I used more or less the same colours as Marion and moved the focus to the bottom of the card as befits a tree!
Here is a close up of the raised sentiment.

I also made one with a smaller tree but left the white embossed 'to you' off and mounted it on a black base card.

If you look carefully you may see a line where the die plate was!

OK, that's about it. Thanks for calling around.

I shall enter the following challenges:-

Less is More - More than one tree
MUSE - #94
STAMPlorations - Stamps and lots of layers ( there are 4 Happy Christmas layers)

Snowflakes at Cards und More

Good morning Peeps.
I hope I find you well. It's double post Tuesday as it's time for a new challenge over at Cards und More. This time we would like to see your projects that have the theme of -

SNOWFLAKES

Hopefully we wont have any around here for a while but they do look good on a Christmas card!

Here is my card for your inspiration.

I'm afraid the Brushos came out again to create the background after I'd stamped the snowflakes with Versamark then heat embossed with white. The snowflakes (newly purchased!) were placed with reference to the sketch over at STAMPlorations.

There is another tale to tell about these snowflake stamps. As regular readers may remember I couldn't find my stash of snowflake stamps as I'd tidied them up and put them in a safe place, you know one that's so safe you can't find it! Anyway after checking out a couple of retail outlets, I found the perfect set on Amazon and placed my order for next day delivery. When 7pm arrived and still no sign, I checked emails and it was still out for delivery. Anyway I went to bed still without the stamps but on checking my emails in the morning, found one that said they were supposed to arrive Friday afternoon but another said that because they didn't have my name it couldn't be delivered! However as we were off to my daughters for the day I couldn't follow it up, but on Monday a new email said it was out for delivery that morning and sure enough it arrived in the allotted time slot. The driver said when I commented on their none arrival that it was a different driver on the route and he probably couldn't find us! I know we are down a long  rutted country lane but there is a temporary sign at the top pointing down. I think the first driver didn't fancy his vehicle going down the rutted trackway!
Anyway back to the technicalities.
The sentiment was die cut using a very old die, think its Go Create, then triple embossed with silver to make it look like metal. (See technique here)
I mounted it on dark blue then flat onto an A6 base card.

Check out the rest of the DT to see what they have made and hopefully, if you are inspired join us over at Cards und More for this challenge.

I shall also join in at the following challenges -

Loves Rubberstamps - Cool Colours

Thanks for calling by and hopefully see you in an hour for the latest challenge at Cardz4Guyz.
