It's a full on year in the Beech family for birthday's, both our son and my OH have big 0 birthdays whilst Nich and Grandson Ben have one's that end with a 5, my other grandson, granddaughter and myself are the odd ones out! Anyway here is her card, hope she liked it!

I'm sharing this as my BA post for Uniko using the recently released Bright Butterflies layering stencil.

Uniko FB Challenge

Good morning all.
This month on Uniko's FB VIP Challenge we are focusing on MASCULINE cards. I know many of you struggle when it comes to cards for the men in your life, I'm pretty outnumbered in the male department so I'm used to producing cards for blokes of all ages but it doesn't get any easier!
With Father's Day fast approaching, I thought I would make one for the Grand kids to give to their dad, think this might be OK for the eldest who is in the middle of his mock exams, CAS works well for male cards and I'll make a cuter one for the youngest later!

I made this using one of Bev's MCM stencils, MOD Background Builder -Circles and a muted palette of greens and blues.
The stencil is designed so that you can cover whatever size of panel you would like but for this I just needed a strip across the card base to match the sketch at AAA Cards. I also mixed up the pattern to extenuate the columns rather than the circle aspect of the stencil.
After placing the stencil on my white A6 card base, I inked each section individually using a mask I made from some scrap acetate from some packaging, die cut with a small square die, it cuts down the risk of inking in the wrong place!
To fill up my line, I had to replace the stencil over the inked section to take the pattern as near to the edge as I required. I used the paler colours first before adding the dark blue over the top of some of the shapes, trying to create a pleasing pattern. Once finished, I stamped the sentiment, Simply Said, with the same dark blue ink.
That's all from me but please join in the fun over on Uniko's FB page.

Happy 13th Birthday Uniko!

Good morning!
It's February 1st and it's the beginning of a whole MONTH of birthday celebrations over at UNIKO.
Can you believe that Bev started on her journey 13 years ago this month?!

Anyway to kick off the celebrations we are launching with a Birthday Card Linky Party. Simply create a birthday card using any Uniko products (current, retired or digital) and link up in the linky below. More details are at the end of the post including the prize.

The BAs have started it off with some birthday inspired makes, here's mine and what says birthday more than balloons?

Strangely enough this is the first outing for both these sets, even though Balloon Bash was one of the earlier releases I was late to the party, so to speak. It was a very simple card to create and just by changing the balloon colours very versatile too.

To begin I stamped the Block Party Birthday stamp onto an A6 top folding, white note card in Memento Tuxedo Black then on some scrap white, I stamped the balloons from Balloon Bash with the Uniko colours and fussy cut them out. To give them a little dimension, I used a ball tool from the back over foam and attached to my base card with foam tape. There are string stamps in the set but I added mine with a black fine liner and a steady hand. Some white hi lights on the balloons complete, no need even for a sentiment.

So are you all ready to party?!
Why not check out the rest of the team to see what they've been up to?

Uniko Release Day Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Good morning, hope the weather is improving where you are, it's rain falling on frozen ground here in the Welsh borders so treacherous out and about!

It's finally release day and all the products we've been introducing this week are now available to purchase on the Uniko website.

However, if you need some more inspirational persuasion, get comfy grab a cuppa and keep on reading.

This card is another using the Flower Power #11 stamp set very like the one on intro day but more tightly grouped. I like the blend of colours this gives but the down side is that the final panel is a tad small.

To compensate for the small panel size, I die cut it with two stacking dies to create the frame and mounted it onto a black base card, then added the leftover as an outer frame. It also means a I have a slim, white square frame to use later!! Another of my ready made Doodle Flower sentiments completes, this time simply stamped on white with black and mounted on a circle of black to match the rest.

Do you remember my intro for MCM Stars and Circles? Well there was a half a panel left over and here it is!

This time I mounted it on a panel of black, trimmed it down and added it to a square white base card, I also incorporated that leftover frame from the first project! The little coloured circles are also a left over from my Sparkles Sentiments card.

Stencil - Mid Century Modern Circles & Stars £4.50

My next card uses three of this weeks release in one card! Central panel Ink n Flip Flower Power #8 stencil, Background Builders Flower Power and the Simply Said Blocks Occasion, plus Happy from a previous set.

You could put any sentiment you wanted to in the center, there are lots of combinations in the Simply Said Blocks series!

After years of making A6 cards, I seem to be embracing the small square format, or is it the tight Yorkshire Lass I am!!
The leftover from a circle die cut, was stamped repeatedly with one of the Flower Power strips, mounted over a stencilled Flower Power #8 and a die cut frame on a 41/4" base card, simples!!

This card was influenced by one I saw on Pinterest, just a simple gem on kraft.

This time I used some Dreamweavers Embossing Paste to create my gem onto a Home Bargains Kraft base card! I could have added something from the Sparkles sentiment set but in the end left it with just the gem!

Finally we have the fab Picked Posies stencils. Remember that panel I had left from my first intro card, well here it is, mounted on some gold mirror card mounted on a 5 x 7 white card with a vellum sentiment panel embossed in gold.

Quite a different look to the first one, it will soon be winging it's way to my Sister in Law, whose birthday is later this month. I glued the vellum onto the stencilled panel by adding glue directly behind the large stamped and embossed sentiment, a great way to hide those dots of glue!!

Well that was a release and a half don't you think? Time to hop along to see what the other BAs have been up to.
Be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win a £25 eGift Certificate to spend in store. Winners of this giveaway and the stencils from the first couple of days introductions will be announced here on the blog, Monday 13th January 2025.
