Holiday @ATSM

G'd day, good evening, good afternoon and good night!
Well it's time for one of my scheduled posts for the latest challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More. This week is our challenge theme of -

HOLIDAY

So we would like to see anything to do with a holiday or the holiday season. Here is my 'Holiday' card, I went with a Christmas theme. I know 2 this week but at least they are now in the stash come December.

I was influenced by the latest challenge at Less is More where it is their colour challenge, using colours opposite each other on the spectrum, so what more seasonal than traditional RED and GREEN. I'd wanted to have a go at making a wreath like this for a while so it was just the right time to have a go. Not sure if my way is the best, but I die cut a ring of card which I coloured with Copic before adding lots of overlapping punched foliage. I added a small red bow and some tiny red diamonte to finish. It looks a little large for the door I made using a cut down Spellbinders window die cut and a rectangle of card embossed with a score board across the top and sides. The sentiment strip acts as a step. I used a Tim Holtz brick ef to create a little texture to the walls.

OK, that's more or less it, pop over to the main blog and check out the rest of the DTs inspiration and join in.
This week we are sponsored by Bugaboo stamps who are offering 7 digis to the winner.

I would like to join in at -
Merry Monday - Use embossing
(dry this time, on the door, glazed panel and walls)
Less is More - Colour Theme
Penny Black and More - Dies and punches

Oriental

Good afternoon.
The sun is shining and its another wonderful day on the Llyn Penisular in North Wales. The sun is so hot that we have had to come in from the beach to take a bit of a siesta. I can't believe our luck with the weather this week.
There are a couple of challenges which have caught my eye so I thought I would have a go.
Over at ATCAS the cue word is

and the one at CASology is

Now I had a card in mind for the ATCAS challenge then the CASology one came along so I have combined them both with this card.

I had lots of ideas about the word Oriental but was impressed with Loll's DT card based on the Japanese art of minimalist flower arranging,
  IKEBANA.
I used a cut down Spellbinders window as a background, a bowl made from a cut down Spellbinders label die in black, a strip of red and some branches and some Memory Box die cut tulips. As the cue for CASology was 3 then three flowers it was. I used a Personnel Impressions greeting to complete. I know red is an auspicious  colour in China but not sure about Japan. Apparently white is the opposite so I hope it isn't in Japan as well!

OK that's about it for today. Don't forget that the latest challenge over at Cardz4Guyz is CAS so why not pop over and link up a masculine CAS card, you never know your luck.

Thanks for popping by, see you again soon.

Photo Inspiration

It's Wednesday so it's time for a new challenge over at ATSM. This week its a photo inspiration.

Lots of ideas raced through my head but I had just bought this Spellbinders window die in Hobbycraft's bargain bucket so thought it the perfect way to go.

I made the window box by reversing the bottom of the window die and just cut that bottom section. Flowers and leaves were punched from scraps in the stash with pearly doodles in the centers.
I started with a wholly purple card but thought it too much so cut down the front and went with a plain white A6 tent fold base card and popped the purple on pads.

OK, that's about it, so why not pop over to check out the rest of the DT's fabulous inspiration.

This week we are sponsored by:-
who are offering 3 stamps for the winner.

I shall enter the following challenges:-
I used the photo especially the daisies on the cupcakes

PS - I have just realised that today is my 1st Anniversary of starting this blog. It wasn't until someone left a lovely comment about the anniversary that I realised, Thank you Svenja.
