Introducing Ink n Flip Geometric Christmas Tree Set

Morning all.
It's time to share the second of the new Ink n Flip release from Uniko.
Today we focus on the two part Geometric Christmas Tree set.
It consists of a background stencil and Bev's signature style Geometric Christmas tree. Here is my first idea.

For this card I stencilled the tree element onto some white card. I was going to keep it simple at that point but somehow I got a smudge of black ink in the open space so decided to fussy cut my tree and then ink another background!
On a panel of red card, I inked through the background stencil with Candied Apple DI to leave a paler red tree shape opening in which to place my tree. The tree was placed back over the background with foam pads and a Simply Said Blocks red stamped sentiment complete.

My second card is similar to others I've done this week, inking through a stencil, Scandinavian Christmas, with Unicorn White ink and then when dry, stencilling in the tree to reveal the pattern beneath.

I used a mix of Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron DI for the tree and Vintage Photo for the trunk. A little masking paper around the truck ensured that the brown ink stayed where it was meant to be! Another red stamped sentiment completes.

That's it from me but why not check out the rest of the team have been up to.

Uniko Challenge #50

Morning all.
It's time for the last challenge of the year over at Uniko.
Here is my inspiration for you.

Our theme is -

I decided to play with my Copic Various Inks and Embossing Paste on Yupo paper, to create this panel.
Just a few drops of the Various Inks, blow down a straw to allow some mixing, then when dry add gold embossing paste using the Scandinavian Christmas Stencil.
My frame was cut from a panel of red textured coated card that's been in the stash for years, using an Avery Elle die. The sentiment from Pure Florals Poinsettia was stamped and embossed in gold.
My completed panel was then trimmed to allow a small border and glued to a matching base card.

While I was playing with my inks I created a blue panel and turned it into this.

For my background panel I used some Copic markers as well as my Various Inks. The main reason being I don't have any dark blue Various Inks!
On a piece of Yupo, I scribbled some B29 and B39, then added some Various ink in B12 and B00, as well as a little colourless blender to make the ink move around. This produced a more even colour on the panel just what I wanted.
I placed the scattered Polka Dots stencil over the panel and spritzed with some isopropyl alcohol.

PLEASE DO THIS AWAY FROM NAKED FLAMES AND IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA

I quickly moved in with a piece of kitchen roll and mopped up the excess ink before removing the stencil and washing it quickly. When I came back I decided that there wasn't quite enough texture so gave it another light spritz with the alcohol without the stencil, mopping again. This gave a much better result and softened the edges of the previously stenciled area. The alcohol reacts with the ink but because some was removed with the stencil you get a different effect in those areas.
I repeated the layout and sentiment but on white this time and added a torn card snowdrift and a gold stag cut from mirror card with an IO die

OK, that's all from me but don't forget to check out the rest of the girls' inspiration here.

Introducing... Scandinavian Christmas, Christmas Folk Snowflake Stencils & Simply Said Blocks Christmas

Morning peeps.
It's the weekend and also day 2 of the Christmas release at Uniko.
First off the block is this cute folksy snowflake stencil.

I only used one of these gorgeous snowflakes, more of the rest later!
I used some plain white embossing paste over some Kraft card initially, cutting out the single flake from the rest for this. To get the shimmer I popped the stencil back over the raised image and added some Nuvo glimmer paste before mounting on a cream square over some frayed burlap continuing the folksy vibe. On a scrap of the kraft I stamped and embossed one of the SS blocks with white EP and trimmed to size.

I used a similar double layering of the stencil on this card using the Scandinavian Christmas stencil.

This time I used Ranger Texture Paste which allowed me to add colour over the white stenciling.
The colour was added with a Qtip so that I didn't get any colour where it wasn't required.

I used DOx in Gathered Twigs, Candied Apple and Broken China for the total Scandi feeling.
Using the layout at Freshly Made Sketches, I trimmed down the stenciled panel, adding it to a white base card before adding a sentiment on a die cut oval mounted on a scalloped die cut inked with the Candied Apple. A few die cut pine branches cut from scrap white were coloured with Gathered Twigs and slipped under the sentiment panel. The stamped sentiment is from the Most wonderful set.

What do you think of these new releases, fab aren't they?
Check out the rest of the DT for more tempting ideas.
