Introducing Solid Alphabet Stamps and Background Block Waves

Good morning and welcome to another post for the Uniko February release. Today we have a couple of new stamp sets to introduce. My first example uses the new Background Blocks Wave and the older Nautical Treasures.

When I first saw the new block, it reminded me of the sea so that's why I hunted out this boat image to use with it. I wanted to stamp it onto a coloured background to suggest the sea, so rooted through my box of inky backgrounds and found a very old panel made with Brusho and some silver wax. I didn't want too much of the silver so trimmed down my panel before stamping the block with Blueprint Sketch DI and over stamping with Versamark and heat embossing with clear EP.
Once my panel was trimmed, I stamped the yacht onto a scrap of white and fussy cut it out. I cut away most of the rigging, drawing it back with a black fine liner once it was glued to my panel.
On a strip of white I stamped the sentiment from Simply Said Sentiments, all panels were popped up on pads to complete.

Next up is the Solid Alphabet Stamp set, where I've used most of the set!

For this card, I started by inking a panel of white card with a rainbow of DI ink and when complete stamped the alphabet with Versamark and heat embossed with clear EP, except the HI which I stamped in black and then embossed with clear EP. The beautiful from Beautiful, was stamped on black and heat embossed with white EP before fussy cutting, I chopped off the trailing lines for this example. A trio of daisy flowers were stamped and fussy cut, using Copic to colour the centers and added. The beautiful word was popped up on foam pads before the completed panel was added to a 5 x 7 white base card with foam pads.

That's it from me for today but be sure to come back tomorrow for more introductions. In the meantime, check out what the rest of the girls have been up to with these stamps.

BA Inspiration at Uniko

Good morning, time for a new challenge at Cardz4Guyz. This time our theme is:-

FATHER'S DAY

My daughter is always asking for a couple of cards for the boys to give to their dad for Father's Day, so this was the perfect excuse to make one and here is one of them. I used products from Uniko so this post is also combined with a BA post for them here.

I'd seen Jennifer McGuire use sentiments to create fab cards so thought I would have a go.
Looking through all my Uniko Simply Said Blocks, I took an assortment of suitable phrases and stamped them onto white card in the colours of Liverpool FC, my Son in Laws favourite team! I know they usually play in red but their away kit is this dark teal colour and the emblem is always yellow/gold! The inks used here were from Altenew, Maple Yellow, Galactic Stream and Heart Beat.

Once I'd stamped a variety of sentiments, they were trimmed down and arranged across the corner of an A6 top fold base card in some kind of logical sequence! I tried not to have two colours overlapping so sometimes the logic had to go out of the window! The sentiment blocks glued down, I trimmed back the overhang and added a thin strip of red card to neaten up the top edge, stamped the greeting from Nautical Treasures and added the die cut letters to complete.

For a totally different look, you could change the sentiment blocks used to create a birthday or thank you card. A simple change of colours would also give you a different look, simply choose the recipients favourite colours, they don't have to be for a football team! The possibilities are endless.

Re-introducing Nautical Treasures AND Introducing... Background Blocks Nautical Stripes, Fleur De Lis & Anchors stencils

Hello and welcome.
Today sees the first of the introducing posts for this month's Uniko release.
Today we are going all nautical!

This card uses the Anchor stencil and the Nautical Treasures stamp set.
I created the background by inking through the stencil with Versamark onto royal blue card and embossing with a clear semi dull EP.
My life belt was simple to make, just a ring of white card cut with two stacking dies and a bit of red Copic colouring and string added to the back!
My banner was stamped in matching blue using the sentiment from Nautical Treasures.

My second card uses the Fleur de Lis stencil and Background Blocks Nautical Stripes.

The stencil was used with white embossing paste over white card and the block stamp inked in blue across the bottom of my base card.
I trimmed the finished stencilled panel when dry and added some gold mirror across the bottom and a die cut oval sentiment using Outline Sentiments in matching blue ink.

That's all from me for today, but check out what the rest of the team have been inspired to create

We are also joined for this release by the talented Karen Baker .
