Water

Morning all.
Gosh the days are slipping by, nearly the end of the month but the weather is still looking settled.
This means pointing for the hubby as he continues to point the old barn walls.
It also means that as it's Tuesday it's another challenge at Cardz4Guyz
This week we would like to see your creations on the theme of -

WATER

Just before I show  you my card for the DT inspiration I would like to thank you for your wonderful response to our no patterned paper challenge last week. Pop over to the main site to check who Helen has chosen for her top 3, not an easy decision.
OK, now for my card -

This week I have gone down the digital route for part of my card. As the ink on the printer was running low I thought I would try using a digital programme to make the background.
I used NitWits digital papers - Aye Aye Captain and the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday.

As I used this LOTV By the River stamp for the image I mirrored the sketch to allow for the floating log.
Once I got my head around the programme I ended up with a finished look that perhaps was a little flat in comparison to using layering but it's certainly easier on the ink!
To give more dimension I fussy cut the main image and popped him up on pads. I also added a white layer before mounting on a mustardy base card.

I shall also enter the following challenges:-
Allsorts - Inspired by a film title - A River Runs Through
Tokbobok - Masculine

OK, that's about it. Why not pop over to the main blog to check out the rest of the DT inspiration and join in the fun.
Thanks for stopping by, see you back soon.

CAS at Fantasy Stampers

Good morning all.
Today is the start of a new challenge over at Fantasy Stampers. This time we would like to see your projects with a theme of -

Clean and Simple - CAS

Although the name Fantasy Stampers suggests otherwise, we are not a fantasy inspired challenge. So long as the main focus of the card is physically stamped, then it fits. Here is my CAS inspiration for the DT.

This little chap is called 'Beside the River' and is from LOTV, he looks so wistful staring out towards the little log boat. I coloured him in Copics, then mounted him on blue card and a white A6 base card, very clean and simple. I even decided to leave the sentiment off, make of the picture what you will!

Pop over to the main site to check out the rest of the DTs inspiration and have a go, you never know unless you try!
I shall also enter the following challenges:-

CASology - Float
Loves Rubber Stamps - Anything Goes
Crafty Little Fairies - Summer Fun

Don't forget there is still time to enter the welcome baby boy challenge over at Cardz4Guyz. If you fancy being a Guest Designer just add GDT after your name, we'd love to see you.

Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment if you can, it's great to hear what you have to say.

Cards 4 Guyz goes live

Good morning.
Today is the beginning of what I hope is a wonderful adventure, my first DT spot.
Our first challenge over at Cards 4 Guyz is :-

 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'

This is my first effort for the team.

I seem to be on the CAS theme again but using a masculine stamp and aperture this time.
The image is from LOTV and I coloured it with Copics as follows:-

Hair- YR24 Y21 E41,43
Grass-YG11,13,17
T-shirt- BG10,13,15
Log- E41,43,44,47

The background paper is from NitWits (Just hatched - clouds), glued to the base card and the top layer is white card embossed with a polka dot embossing folder after cutting the aperture with a Sizzix hexagon die.
I then mounted the image and the embossed layer with pads onto the base card. I cut away the log from the main image and mounted it on pads on the polkadot card putting in a few squiggles to suggest water as the original ones were lost when I cut the log off.

Well I hope you enjoy your first challenge over at Cards 4 Guyz or go and visit us and enter if you haven't been already.

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-

Craft your passion - Cool Colours
Crazy Challenge - Cards for men
LOTV - Anything goes

Bye, but come back soon.
