It's day 2 of the new May release from Uniko.
Today we are all honey sweet!
Here's my inspiration for you using the new Honeycomb stencil.
I din't use the Bee Happy stamp for this, just the stencil.

Today we are all honey sweet!
Here's my inspiration for you using the new Honeycomb stencil.
I didn't want to go down the traditional honey bee route so went with a more masculine treatment,
playing with a technique I'd seen on YouTube by Jennifer McGuire here, using dark card and white pigment ink with a stencil.
The base panel was a rich blue piece of card and the dark blue ink DI, Chipped Sapphire, with a white pigment ink. My die cut sentiment cut from the same blue card and the rest of the sentiment from Pure Florals Cosmos was stamped on a white card circle in dark blue ink. A larger die cut circle of vellum softens the edges. The trimmed panel was placed on a white base card.I din't use the Bee Happy stamp for this, just the stencil.

Great idea so beautifully executed!
ReplyDeleteFabulous dimension! Knew I should have bought this stencil as soon as I saw how you’d used it on your card on the DT blog.
ReplyDeleteLove that you chose blue for the stencil, it looks fabukoud!
ReplyDeleteI think your card is wonderful. It does have a more masculine feeling as the hexagons have a great geometric feel and the way you've used the colours is super. (I have to try this technique soon). Lovely work. Deborah xx
ReplyDeleteMasculine marvelous in every way, as well as shadow sensational! Hope you'll 'buzz' this 'hexagon' delight over to Just Us Girls, where this week's theme is shadows!

Striking and super fun take with the stencil Julie. Love the outside the box colour combo you've used too. Fab idea.
ReplyDeleteGreat overlapping with the stencil. this would work really well for a masculine card too - don't kmow wht but it reminds me of tools and nuts and bolts! Maybe it's just me?! X
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work stenciling those shadows! Your card is beautiful in those colors. Thanks for playing with us at JUGS!
