Sketch Saturday January Guest Designer

Good morning and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm also celebrating as I'm guesting this month over at Sketch Saturday, Yay.
Such a suprise to be asked and happy because it's one of my favourite challenges.

So without any more ado here is my first card using this week's sponsor's image.

This this week's sketch.

I used the Beauty Flower from Sami Stamps to create a background paper then coloured it using Copics and mounted it onto an old lime green base card. The weather here has been so dreadful I wanted to make a card that was a little more cheerful, so went with a springlike palette of yellow and green. The smaller panel was printed with Twisted Citron DI and a freebie EF.

The larger Beauty Flower was printed out twice then coloured in the same palette before fussy cutting one and cutting the center petal out of the second, mounting it over the first on a pad after a little bit of shaping. I used a new to me die 'Happy Birthday' that my daughter bought me at Christmas in some gold mirror card, a bit of lime green georgette ribbon and bow complete.

Please check out the fabulous DT at Sketch Saturday for more inspiration and join in!

I'd like to join in over at -

  1. Your background is genius, Jules! I love the way you created the paper using the same image as your main panel! The popped petal is such a lovely way to add some more visual interest to your card. Thanks for being part of the Sketch Saturday DT this month. We're glad to have you on board! Hugs, Cathy
