Uniko June Release Sneak Peeks

Morning all, how are you enjoying the Jubilee Bank Holiday?

So far the weather has been reasonably kind and I've had Nanny cuddles with my new granddaughter! What's not to love.

Well before I bore you with baby stories, I better get down to why I'm here this morning. Today I'm sharing a couple of sneak peeks of the new June release from Uniko. I was so excited when I saw this first set as I love to watercolour and this new set is just perfect!

The second peek for today is of a new layering stencil combination. This is sure to bring you lots of fun, it's also a perfect companion to the stamp set above.

So that's the first of the peeks, we're teasing you by keeping the rest of the release peeks until tomorrow, so don't forget to pop back then.
The full release will be available on the Uniko website from Friday 10th June at 9pm BST and the Brand Ambassadors will be previewing the release for the days in between.

This Isn't a Thank You Card

Good evening, time for a new challenge at HLS CAS.
Here's my card using the new cue card as inspiration.

I've had this cute gnome with his bunch of flowers from Stamping Bella, for quite some time waiting for the right moment to ink him up. It was the sentiment which came with the image that made me reach for the ink pad!
After stamping, colouring with Copics, I fussy cut and put him to one side while I got the base card ready.
A panel of check DP was glued onto an A6 base card then the die cut panel added to the top half. The sentiment was stamped and the gnome added, no pads this time, everything flat.
So where will the cue card take you? We'd love to see you in our gallery this month. For more HUGS inspiration check out the rest of the DT here.

CAS Mix Up GD

Good evening folks, hope you are all well.
Just stopping by to share a card for the new CAS Mix Up challenge where I'm guesting this time around.

My inspiration for this card came whilst I was having a clear up the other week. I had accumulated quite a few magazine articles which I had forgotten all about, so decided to have a flick through and get rid of the ones that no longer interested me. Amongst many pieces of paper was an article from Craft Stamper about stamping through a stencil by Lydia Evans. I have no idea of the issue or date but I thought I would have a try as it fitted with the challenge.

I first took a panel of thickish card, as pastes are prone to warping thin card, securing the stencil, STAMPlorations Leaf Prints 3, with some masking tape.  I used some Dreamweaver Embossing paste and a spatula to add a semi circle quite roughly to my panel. Removing the stencil carefully, the panel was left to dry and I quickly washed the paste off the stencil and spatula.
Once the stenciling and stencil were dry, I replaced the stencil over the card, taped it down and stamped a range of small leaves and flowers through it. I wasn't sure what the end result would be but I was pleasantly surprised. However, the left hand side was a bit wonky so I trimmed away that edge and added some DP to the base card to fill the gap.
On a piece of vellum, I stamped the greeting from Uniko in Altenew's Obsidian Black ink and heat embossed with clear EP. The vellum was trimmed down and wrapped over the stenciling, adding a few dots of black enamel effects gel. The finished panel was then added flat onto my A6 base card.

So where will you go with this latest challenge, try something new perhaps like me. There's lots of fab inspiration over on the CAS Mix Up blog from the DT and a second GD, along with some helpful links as always.

Color Hues #42

Good afternoon, I hope I find you well.
This year is whizzing by, already the start of a new month so a brand new colour combo from Color Hues for you to play along with. This time Hannelie has chosen a bright and bold combination, here's my take.

I had so many ideas flitting around my head, that it was difficult to settle on one particular idea. In the end I decided that I really ought to ink the rabbit up from the Anita Jerram Birthday Wishing set by Colorado Crafts. I've used the cute hamster and the rats but so far not the rabbit with his balloon.
The colours reminded me of a card I saw a while ago but can I find it on Pinterest, can I, so I apologise to the crafter responsible for not giving full credit!
I liked the idea of using a polaroid style frame for my background to sit in, which is made by stenciling Black Soot DI, lightly onto the central area over my MFT cloud stencil. That was certainly worth the purchase prize as it gets used a lot! I popped it back into the aperture and put to one side whilst I stamped, coloured with Copics and fussy cut my bunny.
To create the two panels, I first thought of using some DP I had but the yellow wasn't as intense as I would have liked, so I used the Background Blocks Horizontal Stripes from Uniko and stamped with Altenew's Fresh Lemon ink. The spotty panel is also from Uniko, BB Scattered Polka Dots stamped with Altenew Obsidian ink.
The layout sort of happened accidentally as I'd placed all my elements to one side whilst I made an A6 card base. The stack slipped and created a very effective layout!
The sentiment from Uniko's Everyday Sentiments was stamped on a strip of black and heat embossed with white EP, trimmed and added to the card.

So where will the colours take you? If you need more inspiration, then check out the rest of the team and our GD here.

By the River

Good morning. Are you looking forward to the Bank Holiday at the end if the week? It's taken me a little time to get my head around the new dates, being retired I no longer have work to hang my calendar on! I even thought it was Monday the other day when it was just Sunday! Anyway, hopefully we will be visited on BH Thursday by our new granddaughter and her parents and the sun will shine!

As it's Tuesday it's time for a new challenge at Cardz4Guyz. This week it was my choice and I went with:-

ON THE WATER

I thought there was plenty of scope there, boats, river or sea, wildlife or just messing about like the little guy in this card.

I used one of my earliest purchases from Lili of the Valley, By the River. He's an unmounted rubber stamp so to use him in my MISTI, I have to glue him to the plate with a touch of Pritt stick or the like.
After colouring him with Copics, I fussy cut him out and put him to one side.
To create the card, I used some A4 white card, made an A6 base card and used half of the leftover to create the top panel, which I die cut with a circle die to create the aperture.
Using my MFT cloud stencil and some ink already on my blue blending brush, I inked in the background onto the base card, careful not to take it right to the edge.
The fussy cut image was then added to the top panel and the whole added to my inked base card. The Uniko sentiment was added to complete.
So where will the theme take you? I'd love to see your take in the gallery, there's plenty of inspiration over on the Cardz4Guyz blog page if you need it!
