Revisiting Uniko's Fun Flower clear stamp set and stencil and a Blog Hop!

Good morning, hope I find you well.
Today the Uniko DT are revisiting one of our older stamp sets Fun Flowers and the new coordinating stencil
For my first card I've kept it very simple, using just one flower from the stencil and a few of the stamps in the set.

I started by masking off just one of the large flowers from the stencil and inking through with some Worn Lipstick DOx then using a small piece of foam inked the center again with Picked Raspberry DOx. Very carefully I also inked the small dots with the darker ink. Using a black fineliner, I drew the stem then added a couple of leaves with the stamp set. To sharpen up the bloom, I stamped the largest of the stamp set, the next largest and the smallest in black ink.
Using a pierced rectangle die I cut out the flower and mounted it on a slightly larger rectangle inked with the two pinks around the edge before attaching it to a scalloped edged die cut panel and then onto a white base card. The sentiment from the Simply Said Blocks set was stamped in black then heat embossed with semi dull clear EP, trimmed down and added over the flower stem.

My second card focuses more on the stencil but still uses the stamps as well and a sentiment from the Pure Floral - Gerbera set.

The coloured panel was created as a result of a failed attempt to bleach away colour through the stencil with a baby wipe. There was a lot of DOx ink in Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade left on the stencil so waste not want not, I spritzed it lightly with water and pressed it onto a scrap panel of white card. Some of the panel was a little messy but I think I managed to rescue it by stamping the small daisy stamp in the same DOx colours as well as a few dots of the same and trimming it down in size. AAA are asking us to use 1/3 so I trimmed my panel down and added two more on pads edged with strips inked with the same DOx colours as the panel.

That's it from me but please check out the rest of the team and check out what they have done with the stamps and stencil.

  1. Such a pretty duo, Julie! That single bloom is deliciously spring like and whimsical ... the dotted and scalloped edges are lovely with it! The tiny daisy stamping adds such a delicate sweetness to your deliciously stencilled background panel! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer ... and at Time Out! Anita :)

  2. Wow such dedication creating the first card, looks so pretty and simple, but I now know all the skill it took to achieve. The second ‘failed’ bleach stencilled flowers is a wonderful success, love those colours. Great to see that one linked up at AAA Cards.

  3. I think they are both just gorgeous. I absolutely adore the first card - so clean and crisp, and perfectly stamped too (I know how hard that it is :)). I think the colours on your second card are so warm and pretty - certainly not a failure. xxx

  4. 2 super elegant cards and gorgeous subtle colours. The designs are so different but showcase the set and stencil perfectly. I imagine you need a very steady hand to ink the centre of that flower on your first one and you'd never know the 'bleached' one was a failed attempt. It's stunning. Happy Spring x

  8. These are both so lovely for springtime, Jules! You were masterful with the stencil and the stamps to create both designs! I love your blossom both as the single star of the show and shared in your warmly colored panel! Great idea to ink the edges for more dimension!! Thank you so much for playing along in Twofer Card Challenge #3! Hugs, Darnell

  9. This is just stunning, Julie ! Two clever ideas to make these two beauties. Love how you've mixed the stencil and the stamps to create your two cards. So beautiful. I can't see at all that your second card is a failed attempt, it is so neat ! A gorgeous showcase of these two products and their versatility. Have a warm weekend. Hugs x

The second card is based in a failure? Nobody would have known this without your information. I wish all my failures would end in so pretty cards! I envy you for this skill!
