Evening folks.
After a dodgy start it's been a lovely spring day today, we will probably count the cost of it tomorrow with a touch of frost.
There is definately spring in the air as our first lambs have come down from the lambing pens this afternoon, 12 ewes and their lambs all frolicking in the sun, such a happy site. I didn't take my phone when I went to look so no photos. :( Must remember to get a photo or two tomorrow.
Any way I have been in te craft room having a play as I was inspired by the card over at Muse by Shona. I loved the soft stamped circles with the tiny hearts. I had it in my mind to use butterflies as the challenge at Less is More is 'Wings'
After a couple of false starts I ended up with this.
I loved the soft embossing Shona used and it was a little tricky to photograph on mine, so I took a few others to show it off better, not sure if they do!
This is Shona's lovely card
In the end after trying various butterfly stamps I went with some punched butterflies mounted on Silver Pearl embossed discs and diecut circles. The greeting is from Clearly Besotted and the stamped butterflies from Do Crafts. I kept the colours roughly the same, colouring the outlined butterflies with matching Copics.
Here are some more views of my card.
The first shows the pearly embossed background discs and the second the diecut front.
OK, it's getting a tad late now so I will finish and get off to bed, early start in the morning as AL will have to go check on the lambs.
As soon as I spotted the little thumb-nail image of this card I thought ... that's got to be for the Muse Card challenge too! I've just been there a little while ago but didn't spot this beauty Jules. It's FANTASTIC.
ReplyDeleteA great take on Shona's card and so thrilled you used butterflies so it works for our winged challenge too.
Thanks so much for sharing and taking part.

This is so pretty Jules. Carol x
ReplyDeleteOh, well done! Love the windows and the bold colours! So glad you joined us at Muse this week!
ReplyDeleteSo funny to hear about little lambs when I'm sitting here sweltering in the sun. I love Spring time with all the new lambs jumping about (I live in a small town, lots of paddocks either filled with sheep, horses or grape-vines) and all the new growth in the garden. I absolutely love your card and what a fabulous idea to die-cut the circles and use the butterflies. Those tiny stamped butterflies are adorable too! Thank you so much for joining me at Muse this week. Its been so much fun seeing my card thru the eyes of others, thank goodness everyone liked my card! Good luck with the weather and fingers crossed for no frosts!
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant card Jules, love the cut outs with the pretty flowers behind. Lambs always herald the arrival of spring I always think. We've never had sheep but our neighbours are lambing for the next fortnight and have hired 4 enormous marquees (cheap out of season) for the purpose!! They must be bonkers as there obviously won't be much sleep but in theory it will all be over quickly!! xx
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty Julie!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely design!
Thanks so much

ReplyDeleteLove this one mum. Got to love some butterflies!
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! I loved how you did the circular peek-a-boo holes instead of trimming the edge off. Brilliant!
