I had this card made earlier in the week but in all the excitement of my new DT post, I forgot to post, so here it is today.
I was inspired by a super card made by a great designer Iwona Palamountain aka Chupa.
I'm not sure when I saw it but I loved the contrast between the white and the intense blue and green of the stamp and the fantastic Islamic style infill of the hexagon diecut.
My take was inspired by the latest challenge at Virginia's View which is die cuts. This card is all die cuts, even the sentiment. (OK the dew drops aren't!) The background diecut is from Sizzix as are the hexagon dies and leaf die, the butterflies are from Memory Box and the greeting is from Spellbinders. Dewdrops etc from the stash. All assembled on an A6 textured white base card.
I am also celebrating the wonderful Darnell's birthday, 2 days late I know but happy 4th of July! Darnell has made me very welcome and was one of my earliest followers out in blogland. I love her mad typos and anarchic blogstyle. The fantastically gifted Ardyth is hosting a linky party for her so why not join in?
OK, it's raining at the moment so no grass mowing tonight and Al has taken Max for a walk so peace reigneth - for the moment.
This is a beautiful card Jules!!

Gorgeous! I love your window design inspired by Chupa, Julie! The dew drops are lovely! So glad that you join the fun over Virginia's View Challenge!
ReplyDeleteWell, listen to you! Who had to look up anarchic then and loves her new word? LOL! Thank you for "getting" me to the core, Jules! Thank you for honoring me with this beautiful card, for linking it to Ardyth's surprise party, and for your very kind words!
ReplyDeleteNow let's just talk about your card for a minute. Holy Chupamobile, you did a stellar job of CASEing this brilliantly designed card!! This card is, in a word, perfection! I'm pinning all my birthday cards anyway, but if I weren't, I would so be pinning this!! And I'm calling winner at V's challenge IMHO!!
Quick question: I have some of dew drops thingies in colors which I received them from a friend. I haven't seen them in clear and I MUST have some. Will you please let me know where you found them? Thank you! darnell dot knauss at gmail dot com.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thanks again! Mwah! Darnell
Fantastic birthday card, Jules! Perfect CASE of Chupa's card, and perfect for our dear Darnell! I knew she'd love this one the minute I lay eyes on it. Simply lovely. So glad you linked up and partied along with us! Bev
