Magnolia birthday

Evening everyone. Had a busy day as my best friend Di is staying over for a couple of days. We did a bit of crafting then visited a local antiques and craft place to buy some more card! Di reminded me that it was our friend's birthday next week so we each made her a card. This is mine.

Chris lives near Saddleworth Moor so the dry stone wall is quite appropriate.
Just a short blog tonight as I still have a visitor, so nite all.

Sleigh ride

Good afternoon folks, thanks for popping by. Just taking a few minutes to write while my Grandson is playing with his Dadgwan upstairs. Thought I would post this little offering using the same Sugar Nellie stamp I used last week.

I used a Papermania Christmas word stamp to create the background which I then embossed with white and inked with Tim Holtz ' Faded Jeans' and 'Broken China'. I cut a circle out with a Spellbinders die to reveal the image on the lower layer. I coloured this with Copics and added some frontage to crate the snow effect. The stars and snowflakes were cut from plain white card, gems from the stash. The image layer was edged in 'Faded Jeans' and the heat embossed top layer was mounted on top on foam pads.

I am going to enter the following challenges:-

Another wedding

It's strange isn't it , that when your children get to a certain age there are quite a few weddings in the offing. This time it was a work colleague of my son, "Could you do me a card for this wedding I'm going to." So here it is using my very favourite LOTV wedding couple.

I wasn't sure what the colours were for the wedding so kept it pretty neutral, just some pin striped paper in grey and some white embossed card. The swirls were from a Marianne die and roses from the stash. All the card used was the same plain white. I didn't use any ribbons as it was from a bloke and  I liked the clean lines.
Anyway must dash as Strictly is now recording.

I will enter the following challenges:-
LOTV - Anything goes
ABC - Extra Special

Santa Tag

Evening all. Its been a lovely warm and sunny day down here but the nights are certainly drawing in. My wrist is still playing up, I think I hung out too much washing yesterday and today. I'm now trying to rest it. Does one finger typing count?
Well here is today's offering. It's not a card but it could be. While my left hand has been restricted I have been colouring in and this is one of my favourite Christmas stamps. It's a Santa from Sugar Nellie.

The stars and tag have been stamped with a Papermania Christmas words stamp in Tim Holtz "Faded Jeans" and finished off with stickles. Santa is coloured using Copics. The ribbons etc are from the stash.

I shall enter it in these Challenges:-
Crafty Ribbons - Anything but a card

Thanks for popping around.

A Special Christmas

Morning all. Still struggling with my wrist, so today's card has been a couple of days in the making, still its kept me sane. The stamp was a purchase from a bargain bucket last January. I love a bargain, and you can pick up some gems if you are in the right place at the right time and save some cash.

The stamp is Jingle bells from Sugar Nellie, the paper is from those fantastic girls at LOTV. My friend went over last week and asked if I wanted anything. I didn't check my phone so missed her visit! Anyway lovely Di gave me one of each of the lovely Frosty Christmas collection so I just had to use some of them. I used Copics to colour and edged the papers with frayed burlap from Tim Holtz. The card I bought from Lidl last year, I told you I liked a bargain. The doily like the ribbon and gems was from the stash.

I am going to enter it into the following challenges:-
Ribbon Girl:- Colour challenge
Allsorts:- Ribbons and Bows
Sketch Saturday:- #281
Creative Inspirations:- Autumn colours

Molly Bloom - On the farm

Morning all. I can't say good morning 'cos its a foul day here. the rain is l;ashing down and it feels like 7o'clock its so dark! Its also grim 'cos I fell over in the mud on Saturday walking Max and sprained my wrist, so crafting is a little tricky. Anyway here is a card I made for my hubby's birthday last week. It is made using Molly Bloom stamps from a while ago.

I made it using a zig zag frame then applied the images onto each layer.
You can see this a little better in this image.

I coloured the images using Copics and the foliage and grass were cut using punches, The yard was made from torn brown card. The jute string is a joke because Al always has string in his back pocket!

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-

Pretty in Pink

Evening all. Well the nights are closing in and someone down the road has had their Christmas lights up since the beginning of the month. Think that's a bit too soon myself. It's also Breast Cancer awareness month, a cause very close to my heart. In view of this I thought I would post another Christmas inspired card with a little bit of pink! Its using the same LOTV angel stamp as before but on a larger scale card.

I just love these cute little angels. The paper is Nit Wits Merry and Bright mounted on lime card. The paper and card is edged in Tim Holtz 'Tumbled Glass' The angels smocks are coloured in Copic using RV21,23, 29 (although they don't look pink in the picture) as are the poinsettia sepals. I used a Sizzix labels die to cut the image and mount and a Lecrea poinsettia die. The large snowflake was from a Sizzix die. Ribbon as always from the stash.

I will enter it for the following challenges:-
Crafty Little Fairies:- Christmas in October
Crafty Ribbons :- Anything goes with Ribbon

Its only Christmas

Morning all. I'm now in Christmas card mode as I have finished my hubby's birthday card. I will post it later as I'm still struggling to download pictures that can't be scanned.
This is a card I made using a Micheal Powell stamp I bought last year.

The shape and size I found tricky but I mounted it on silver mirror card then dark blue card. The base card I stamped with a LOTV music stamp in Momento Ink 'London Fog' and edged in Tim Holtz 'Broken China'.
The image was coloured using Copics as follows.

Sky:- B93,95,97,99,BG01
Trees:- YG61,63,67
Snow:- C1,2,3,5,7
Houses:- BG01, RV000,02, R00, 02,
       E02,08, 35,37, Y00,02
Stars:-Y00, 06, YR16
Baubles:- V09,YR07,Y06,B05, YG06, R27
The baubles were then glazed to give a 3D effect.
The snowflakes are from two Sizzix dies in silver and white and a smaller green Woodware one in white. Crystal Stickles around the edge of the silver mount.

Hope you like it. While looking around the blog world for inspiration I happened upon this site
Copic Marker Norge. Their latest challenge is Anything goes- its only Christmas.
I think this card fits the brief so here goes.
See you soon.

Christmas for the boys

Afternoon all. I'm still without my own laptop but am sort of OK with the loan of husband's backup one. I'm still working on his card but I have another week to get it sorted. In the meantime here is one card I made for Christmas.

I made it using George from last Christmas's Molly Bloom set. The star I cut freehand from a piece of embossed white card then edged in Tim Holtz 'Broken China' distressed ink. The ribbon is a Docrafts design from years ago and the snowflakes are punched from silver and white card with a Woodware green punch. The white ones I inked with Copics. The sentiment stamp is from LOTV and I personalized the middle with a name and mounted it on a spellbinder inverted scallop circle in silver. I coloured George using Copics.

Wellies:-C1,2,5,7
Snowflakes, Scarf n mittens:- BG000,01,05
Face:- E000,00,11 R11
Trousers and jacket:- B93,95,97,99

The whole lot was mounted on textured blue paper from the stash and double mounted onto silver.

I am going to enter it in the following challenges:-

In the Country

Good afternoon, thanks for dropping by. What an awful Sunday it is, rain rattling on the roof and lights on just so you can see. Just the day for holing up in my craftroom and getting crafty.
I am still without a computer and I am having to borrow my husband's work one. All my links and bookmarks have gone with the old computer so I can't find some of my new challenges. Never mind, it made me find some new ones! The only problem is finding pictures of my cards to enter as although I managed the last picture it was not the usual quality.
I have been making a card for my son to give his dad on his birthday in a couple of weeks.
I love the LOTV stamp 'In The Country' and it is just the right image for this card. I also recently found a Hobby Art stamp of Sheep in a field, so I decided to put them together and used the sketch from my last Sketch Saturday entry, plus a LOTV greeting. Hopefully I can download a picture unlike last night when I tried!

I coloured the image using Copics AS FOLLOWS
Skin:- E000,E00,E11, R11
Sky:- B000, B00, BG02, C1,C3, E50
Trees and fields:- YG 11, YG13, YG17, YG00, YG61, YG63,YG67, G99
House and wall :- E02,E09, E08, BV25, C3, C5, C7

The cap was stamped on patterned paper and edged in E71, E77

The backing papers were NitWits In the Meadow mounted on some craft paper and all edged in Tim Holtz frayed burlap distress ink.

Not a square

Good afternoon. Still no life in my laptop so have been looking at getting a new one. Husband has asked me to look at some on line but I don't know one from another, except I don't want the latest Windows. It drove me mad when I used it on another computer.
Anyway while I haven't been able to blog I have been making and I think I have managed to down load a few pictures.

I made a couple of easel cards, this is the smaller one which I think I like best,
The image is from LOTV and the papers are Merry and Bright from Nit Wits. I used Copics to colour the image and Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink to edge. The snowflakes were from a Martha Stewart Artic snowflake punch with crystals from the stash. The die cuts are from a Sizzix Framelets- Labels die set.

I am entering this into:-
Creative Inspirations Challenge - Not a square or rectangle

Bye for now, thanks for stopping by.

Gremlins

Good afternoon. The gremlins have been at my computer and it will no longer boot up. Arrgh!!!! I couldn't get on to blog yesterday as my hubby was using his for work. Today he is back at the pointing lark so I am free to use it. However, I'm not sure if I can get my photos off my phone onto this computer so I may not have anything to show you for those hours in my craft room.
I think I should make a start on my Christmas cards so I'm not leaving it while the last push. I have made a couple but I like to make them all different if I can.

Christmas Angel

Morning all.
On Tuesday I had to run a little errand to pick up some more lime for my hubby. He is currently pointing our barn and it is taking on Forth Bridge proportions! Anyway, it gave me a chance to call in at my old stomping ground of the Craft and Hobby Store in Heckmondwike. I haven't seen the two Mandys for about a year, so it was good to catch up. Mandy told me about their challenge blog so I may enter.

Now for today's card.

Christmas Angel

This is a Christmas version of the one I made for my daughter's friends 50th.
This time I used some brown matt card and distressed it with an old Farrow and Ball emulsion paint tester pot, stamped snowflakes then embossed in white. The edges were then distressed using a distressing tool to create the darker border. The circle (Nestabilities) and tag (Die'Sire) were stamped with snowflakes in brown and then some frontage was added. The little trees were some Cuttlebug cut and emboss from years ago I'd forgotten all about but found them when I was clearing out one of my craft drawers. Cut in white card then edged in Tea Dye from Tim Holtz.
The snowflake is cut from a Sizzix die and the pearl brad I bought from Craft and Hobby Store in Heckmondwike a couple of years ago.
The ribbons and button are from the infamous stash. The image is from LOTV and coloured in Copics.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:-

Autumn Colours - Heck of a Challenge
Bows and Brads - Crafty Little Fairies
Winged Creations - A Creative Romance
