Stencil Sunday

Hi and welcome.
I'm over at the Uniko blog for another Stencil Sunday.

I'm sharing a couple of cards made using a wreath builder/ turnabout stamping jig that some of you may be familiar with. If you haven't got one here is a link to how to make your own.

Some of you may even have used one with your stamps to create some fun cards, like I did here, but this time I'm going to use a couple of stencils. I was inspired to have a go after seeing this Jennifer McGuire video.

My first card uses the wonky stripes stencil and the So Much clear stamp set.

This second card uses the Broken Lines stencil and a more restricted palette.

Christmas Parcels

Hi, hope you are all well and not too troubled by this awful rain we've had these past few days. Judging by the amount of rain in the trough on the patio, we must have had over 4 inches! The lane at the top of the drive was flooded as was our yard, you needed wellies to reach the marooned car!

Anyway it's mostly drained away as I type but sadly there is more rain in the forecast over the next couple of days.

So, on a lighter note, I'm sharing a card I made while I was indisposed and haven't shared yet.

The challenge at CAS Christmas this month is Gifts so thought that this little cutie would fit the bill!

My fellow DT member Jane and I attended a Copic class in March and while we were there we bought some Whimsey stamps. This little fairy was one of the one's that she bought and very kindly stamped for me, thank's Jane. I decided to practice my hair colouring skills on this while they were still fresh in my mind after the class. 

The layout is one I've used a lot, a pretty DP under a die cut aperture and the fussy cut image off to one side. There is a little bit of sparkle on the snow and wings, down to a bit of Wink of Stella which unfortunately doesn't show up here.

I love the this cute fairy tottering under the pile of tiny gift wrapped packages, the non-traditional Christmas colours for them being picked up from the DP.

June 2019 Uniko Blog Hop and Giveaway

Morning all.

Its time for a revisit of some of Uniko's stamps and dies and while we're at it why not have a little blog hop and giveaway as well!

This time around we are focusing on Explosions, Explosions Additions stamp sets and their matching dies.

Explosions was one of the first sets I ever bought from Uniko years ago and has been very useful for masculine cards, so when Bev launched the Additions and matching dies, I knew they would come in very useful.

As its coming up to Father's Day here in the UK, so I decided to use them to make this card.

I used the layout from Freshly Made Sketches and the Colour Throwdown colours as my inspiration.

The explosion was made up of 3 pieces, one stamped in navy with the original Explosions then die cut and the larger ones simply cut from card and layered up. The background was stamped a couple of times in Coral Bliss ink with the Explosions Additions large stamp. The greeting is also from the set with some die cut letters added on top. All the panels were then added to a pale cream base card.

This second card uses one of the small explosion stamps and matching die from the Additions set, along with the sentiment and three of the exclamation stamps from the original Explosions set.

Each die cut was placed back into the negative space of the card so that I could use it as a jig, just replacing the die cut each time before stamping. The exclamations were stamped in black over the top and the centres coloured with a white gel pen. The layout is CAS(E) this Sketch.

Embossing and CAS

Hi and welcome to a post to announce the start of a brand new challenge over at ATSM.

This week our theme is 

CAS

Here is my take.

My starting point was a combination of challenges. I started by trying to incorporate embossing in 1/3rd of my card for the ladies at LIM. My take was to stamp and emboss the foliage before adding a couple of die cut Altenew freebie roses, chosen for their retro feel and using the Card Concepts colour and theme vibe. The sentiment is from Uniko, a stamp from each of 3 sets, Christmas Greetings (wishing you), You Are, Yes You (fabulous) and finally Birthday Greetings (birthday),was stamped in black. I stamped it over the foliage to keep the design compact which left lots of lovely 'white' space to surround the posy. The embossed foliage was stamped with Altenew's Limestone ink and it was embossed with WOW semi dull clear EP.

Take it easy

Good morning, well not so good here as its raining and forecast to continue all day. I've got a pedicure booked for this morning so it looks like I'll be splashing my way across the car park in my flip flops afterwards, what joy!

Anyway, I got good some news from the fracture clinic yesterday. All is looking as it should so they don't want to see me again but the physio will start in earnest next week I think. I still can't put my arm behind my back very easily, apparently that is the last movement to return.

Back to the point of this post which is to announce the start of a new challenge at Cardz4Guyz. This time our theme is-

FATHER'S DAY

In the UK Father's day i on June 16th so it will give you time to make yours and enter it!

Here's mine.

I used LOTV's Take it easy stamp and the layout is the Sketch Saturday one rotated 90'.

Image stamped, coloured withmy Copics and then fussy cut. The frame was die cut using a MFT die and the sentiment Cardio. The panel behind the frame is a piece of NitWits DP and a couple of strips of washi tape I bought in a bundle from The Range. I added some Dovecraft puffy paint for the froth on the glass of beer!

Hello Summer

Hi there. I should be back from my fracture clinic appointment but given previous history I'm not banking on it! So this is a scheduled post.

It's the first Monday of the moth so its time for a new challenge over at CUTplorations.

Here is my card inspired by this picture.

I was sort of stumped at first for where I was going to go with my design but in the end decided to stick with the flowers, butterflies and the summer vibe.

I used some of the small flowers and butterfly stamps form Frames and Flowers and the sentiment from Hello Coffee. After stamping, I cut the solid butterfly from the Flutter Zen 1 set from my panel and popped it up on foam before replacing it back into the die cut space.
I had two goes at my card, the first rather CAS the second not so.

This time I added some PPP sequins and popped the die cut up on pink fun foam. I'm torn again about the sequins but prefer the colour arrangement on this second card.

Evening all. Hope your weekend went swimmingly and you are keeping well.
I'm off to the fracture clinic tomorrow to hopefully get the all clear from the orthopaedic surgeon to start the heavy duty physio on my arm!
Over at HLS CAS its the start of a new challenge and bearing in mind what is in front of me, I chose this image.

I thought it was the perfect card for this month's challenge -

This Stamping Bella stamp is supposed to be chicks but at a Copic class last year, Faye showed us how to stretch them by turning them into robins as well as penguins! I've done the robin transformation a couple of times but here are the penguins.
I coloured them with Copic markers then fussy cut and mounted them over a MFT die cut window. I popped a tiny bit of DP from the scrap box behind them to make them feel at home!
