Introducing Uniko's Background Blocks Graffitti

Morning peeps.
Back again with day 3 of the February Uniko release introductions.
Today we are focusing on one of the background blocks - Graphitti!

For this example, I inked a panel with Blueprint Sketch DOx and then stamped the graffitti image with plain water to create the pattern. The water acts like bleach, removing some of the ink which you can mop up with a piece of kitchen paper. I also splashed a few drops of water over the panel to remove even more of the ink.
My top panel was cut using a double sided curved die and the panel trimmed down to size. A scrap of bright yellow card was also cut and then slipped behind the white panel to create added interest. My sentiment, from Wonderful Day was stamped in navy ink and embossed with clear semi dull EP and the white panels popped up over the distressed blue one, trimmed to size and added to a white base card.

Introducing Birthday Wishes and Abstract Triangle Stencil

Morning Uniko fans.
It's day two of the February birthday release introductions.
Today we are featuring the brand new stencil Abstract Triangles and Birthday Wishes stamp set.

Here is my card using the stencil as well as Big n Bold Happy stamp set.

To start, I taped my stencil over an A6 panel of  white card, masking off a central section.
Using a water based fineliner, I traced inside each of the triangles before colouring with Copics.
On a strip of black card I stamped the sentiments from Big n Bold Happy and embossed with white EP before trimming down to size. The happy was cut from white then a shadow cut from black.
Everything was glued flat onto the coloured panel.

The second card uses the Birthday Wishes stamp set.

As there were so many different sentiments to use I decided I would use them all and make a sentiment background.
Using my MISTI, I arranged the stamps to cover an A6 card panel, filling in the gaps with other Uniko birthday themed stamps, such as Birthday Sentiments and Big n Bold Happy. Using Versamark ink, I inked the whole array and stamped onto a panel of bright blue card and embossed it with clear glossy EP. I kept the assembled stamps on the MISTI and stamped off a couple more, but more of those later. As I had one of the bobbler dies left over from this card and the balloon dies and stencil were on my desk too, I added one in a complementary orange. Details on construction of the balloon can be found here. In the spaces between the entiments, I went in with the two solid stars from the Seeing Stars set and embossed in the same EP before adding the balloon.

For some more fab inspiration featuring these new stamps and stencil check out the rest of team. All details of the release so far are here.

Introducing Uniko's Big and Bold Happy

Good morning peeps.
I'm here with the first of the reveals of this month's Uniko release.
This is Big and Bold HAPPY stamp and matching die set.
Here's my inspiration card.

I remembered a card form a while ago that featured a stacked die cut and 'exploding' layered outer. This is my take on it.
I decided to just use the two dies for this and not the large stamped happy. I rifled through my stash and selected some blues that worked together and cut panels to A6 size. Then, using the shadow die, I cut the happy from them.
I cut each piece in half and started stacking each colour layer together on a white background card. In the middle of the stacked layers, I placed the smaller die cut happy, cut from the darkest blue.
To finish. I trimmed my finished panel and stamped the birthday element from the stamp set in Paris Dusk Memento ink.
Check out the rest of the DT below to see what they have done with the new stamps and dies.

CUTplorations February Challenge

Afternoon peeps.
It's time for a brand new challenge over at CUTplorations.
Here is my inspiration card for you.

I used this month's pic, taking the heart shape, watercoloured flowers and colours as inspiration.

To start I die cut some outlines from white card using STAMPlorations Trendy Spring Blooms die set.
From a panel of white card, I cut a heart shape and then filled the space created with the die cuts, securing them with tape around the edges.
On a second panel I stamped the equivalent stamps from the Trendy Spring Blooms stamp set, using a waterbrush to pull the DI ink used to fill the outlines and even adding some of the same to the outer edges. The small flowers from the Frames and flowers stamp set were used to infill between.
The gold heat embossed sentiment is from the  Bloom Sketches set.

To complete the card, I trimmed the heart panel down and glued the die cut outlines over the watercoloured panel, which was then adhered to an A6 white base card.

That's all from me for the mo, but there's more fab inspiration from the rest of the team here.

Stamping Bella Snapshot

Evening all.
It's a new month so it has to be a new challenge over at HLS CAS.
Here is my inspiration for you.

It was made using this month's theme of -

My image is one of Stamping Bella's Snapshot images that I picked up while on a Copic colouring course last year. It's its first outing and fits the theme rather well I think.

As this is a CAS challenge I have kept the layout pretty simple, just the stamped image, a sentiment and a die cut and LOTS of white space!

So where will you go with the theme, we'd love to see your interpretation.

Happy 7th Birthday Uniko

Good morning, hope you are well.
It's an exciting time over at Uniko as we celebrate our 7th birthday this month!
Here's my card and what says celebrate more than balloons?

It's a wobbly balloon on a confetti embossed background. It uses a bobbler die cut using a die from Stampendous that I picked up at Port Sunlight in the bargain box a few years ago and hadn't used but rediscovered whist tidying my stash over Christmas.

Here's a close up of the die cut

and here it is behind my balloon

To start, I fixed a panel of white card under the Party Confetti Stencil and inked through with a small Versamark pad, removed the stencil carefully and added some white EP, which I then heat embossed. Setting to one side, I then took a balloon die and cut one in some pink Bazzil card and inked around the edges with some Picked Raspberry DI. Placing the outer of the die cut in my MISTI, I replaced the balloon die cut and stamped the sentiment from the Wonderful Day stamp set in black Memento, heat embossing it in clear gloss EP. I put the die cut back into the negative space so that it was easier to stamp squarely. Before removing the panel, I added a flash of white gel pen using the Balloon Bash stencil as a guide.

To cut the tail for the balloon, I used a wavy strip die, cutting twice close together, then affixing it behind the balloon and adding a tiny extra bit for the tie at the bottom. The bobbler die cut was adhered to the back of the balloon and my trimmed embossed panel was added to a white A6 base card.  The other end of my bobbler was glued to the embossed panel, trimming the tail to fit. A few clear sequins were added over some of the dots on the embossed panel to complete.

OK we've got a balloon but what's a birthday celebration without a PARTY?
