Introducing Originally Organic Additions dies

Morning, I'm back with another fab new release from Uniko.
This time it's a brand new set of matching dies for the Originally Organic Additions stamp set.

I'm not usually a great fan of these sort of dies but I must admit that for this tricky wreath style stamp it really works. On a square panel of white card I stamped the wreath then cut away the middle, then cut a piece of fun foam slightly smaller than the card and repeated the die cut. This allowed me to pop the whole panel up and stamp my greeting on the base card. There is a larger die that allows you to cut the whole wreath from a piece of card but for this I decided to just cut the center away.
I wasn't sure how I was going to do the flower elements, stamp then cut or visa versa but in the end I went with cut first then stamp as a little trick I was shown works a treat.
Using a scrap of card die cut the tiny flowers then place the leftover card in a MISTI over a sheet of copy paper. Place the stamps into the spaces and then close the MISTI and stamp through the template onto the scrap. When happy with the position of the stamps, place the die cuts in the template and away you go!
The images were coloured with Copics in the colours from the photo at Inspired by the little things.

OK, that's it from me but there's much more fab inspiration from the DT.

You are just my cup of tea

Hi and welcome to a post to announce the start of a brand new challenge over at ATSM.
Here's my card.

Although it's a pretty CAS card our theme this week is -

This is always a tricky challenge for me to come up with ideas, so I took inspiration from the challenges at Addicted to CAS and The Paper Players.

I simply stamped the stacked teacups, free from a mag, with Versamark before heat embossing with gold EP, mounted this on a scrap of gold mirror card and then a plain white base card. The sentiment, also free from a mag, was stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle. Simples.
If you need more inspiration check out the rest of the team here.

FORE!

Morning, it's going to be a busy week here on the blog.
Just like London buses, nothing for ages then two or more in quick succession!
This time it's time for a new challenge over at Cardz4Guyz where our theme is -

MEN'S HOBBIES

Lots to get your teeth into here. I went through my stash and chose this LOTV golfer for the focus of my card. Now golf is a serious hobby for some men!

I used the layout from Sketch Saturday and the theme from CAS on Friday, Cute, as my jumping off point.
To keep it CAS, I went with an embossed main panel, an Argyll one from Sizzix to match the image, cutting a circle out before hand. I cut a frame from the same die and a slightly larger one from matching white card and glued it to the edge of the opening, trimming off the overhang.
My cute LOTV golfer was stamped then coloured with Copics before fussy cutting and slipping him into the opening. A scrap piece of NitWits DP was attached to the base card and the top panel added with foam pads. The sentiment from Uniko was stamped on a strip and then slipped under his golf bag. Job done!
Check out the rest of the DT for more inspiration here, then why not join us.

Even More Stencil Fun

Morning, a very busy week here in the craft room with more inspiration using the new May release from Uniko.
First off the rank is this pink delight.

This uses the new Stylized Floral stencil and Simply Said Blocks II plus the older but goody Pure Florals Cosmos.
I channelled my inner Jennifer McGuire again for this card using the Rotating Stencil Technique.
I started with a panel of pink card inked with Picked Raspberry DOx, then rotated and the process repeated. Placing the stencil over the inked panel again, I inked through with white pigment ink.
Using an Avery Elle die, I cut the angled panel of white linen effect card and popped it over the inked panel. The sentiment was stamped with the same DOx on a strip of white card and glued in place. I decided it looked a little too spartan so added the blooms, coloured with Copics and fussy cut.

My second card uses the Confetti stencil, bigger brother to the stamp released last year. Just to prove that stencils are just as useful as stamps, if not more so I made this.

On a panel of white card, I attached the stencil with masking tape and using a small Versamark pad, I inked through it, then after carefully removing the stencil heat embossed the card with white EP.
Using diluted DI in a rainbow of colours, I washed in the rainbow effect. When completely dry I die cut a rectangle from the panel and buffed up the surface with a dry babywipe.
I didn't want to detract from the panel so added some white die cut balloons and another sentiment form Simply Said blocks II, I can see this getting a lot of use, this time heat embossed in silver. I used the layout from the girls at Less is More to place them.
So that's it from me for the moment, back tomorrow with more inspiration.

There's even more  inspiration from the rest of the team.

CUTplorations, we are back!

Good afternoon folks.
As it says at the top of the post CUTplorations are back for one month to join in with the rest of the STAMPlorations DTs on the month long theme of -

THINGS WITH WINGS

Here is my inspiration for you.

I used the negative space of a Flutter Zen I butterfly on a panel of homemade rainbow card, an embossed sentiment from Fond Expressions 2 and a few sequins for this.
I gathered together some offcuts of coloured card from the scrap box and cut equal width strips and arranged them into a rainbow, glueing them down onto a scrap of white card. The butterfly was then cut out and again from a panel of fun foam. The foam was then glued under the rainbow panel before it was glued onto a white base card, simples.

So join in and hop along with us for a chance to win. Here are a few simple rules.
  • Link up as many winged-themed projects as you want as long as each project features dies/die cuts and is in its own separate blog post
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
  • Prizes: $15 for the winner voted by the design team; two randomly chosen winners of $5 GC

Introducing Day 3, Just Because

It's day 3 of the May release over at Uniko.
Today I'm showcasing the Just Because stamp set. There's also a fab script stamp out too.

This simple card uses the silhouette from the set and a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II.

On the front of a white base card I stamped my silhouetted bloom and embossed it with semi dull EP then masked off the area to be inked. The golden sunset (hope this counts as gold for AAA) was made by adding a mix of Fossilised Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Abandoned Coral DOx, blending as I went. The ink was carefully rubbed away from the embossed surface before splashing a few drops of water over the inked background.
Carefully removing the masks, I stamped and embossed the sentiment.

Day 2, Honeycomb

It's day 2 of the new May release from Uniko.
Today we are all honey sweet!
Here's my inspiration for you using the new Honeycomb stencil.

I didn't want to go down the traditional honey bee route so went with a more masculine treatment,
playing with a technique I'd seen on YouTube by Jennifer McGuire here, using dark card and white pigment ink with a stencil.
The base panel was a rich blue piece of card and the dark blue ink DI, Chipped Sapphire, with a white pigment ink. My die cut sentiment cut from the same blue card and the rest of the sentiment from Pure Florals Cosmos was stamped on a white card circle in dark blue ink. A larger die cut circle of vellum softens the edges. The trimmed panel was placed on a white base card.

I din't use the Bee Happy stamp for this, just the stencil.

Check out the rest of the DT for more inspiration.
