Happy Second Birthday!

Morning folks.
Well today marks the anniversary of me being on the Cardz4Guyz DT as the challenge is 2 years old today. So to celebrate we chose the theme of , what else but

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

For my card I used the goat from SSS Birthday Farm Animals. with an added balloon.

I made this card for a friend, I hope he didn't resent the greeting inside that said
'Happy Birthday to an Old Goat'!

My background was made by sponging through a STAMPlorations 'Bubbles' stencil with a rainbow of DI inks on a white base card, The Kaisercraft polaroid was cut in white then the center inked with brown and run through an EF. My goat was stamped, coloured with Copics then fussy cut along with a balloon and placed on pads in the aperture. A greeting from STAMPlorations was stamped on the border of the polaroid then popped up on pads as well.
Please check out the rest of the DT's fab inspiration and join in our celebrations.

Thank You

Good afternoon folks.
Just sat in my craft room listening to tributes to Davis Bowie.
So sad to hear of his passing this morning, RIP.
He had a huge effect on my future as I met my future husband back in 1973 whilst dancing to Suffragette City at a local disco.
We used to listen to his early albums and even knew where the scratches were and put them in when ever we heard the songs on the radio and start to sing the next song.

So this card was in the making and in a way it is a bit of a tribute to him.

I started to make this card yesterday, for a few challenges.
The butterflies were cut from a piece of MM paper that I smooshed with Violet Inka Gold wax and then some new Wilted Violet DI, I also added a few splashes of diluted DI over the base of my card. A 'thank you' sentiment from Stampin Up was stamped and embossed in silver.

Herd it's your birthday!

Good morning and welcome to my second post as GD over at Sketch Saturday.

Here is my take on this week's sketch.

Here is this week's sketch for you.

This week we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp!, so I decided to use this cute cow stamp from their 'Birthday Farm Animals' set that I got recently and had not used.
To start off, I took a 5" x 7" panel and die cut a set of apertures with a circle die. The cows were stamped then coloured with Copics, fussy cut and then arranged with their heads peeking through the holes then the panel was trimmed down to leave a border when placed over my base card. .
After looking at the layout it looked a little bare so I decided to drawn some black splodges with a Copic to look like a Freisian cow! Then the background needed a strong colour way so I used a panel of NitWits paper that matched the party hats and then cut away part of the top panel to reveal it in the bottom left corner, the sentiment was written free hand to go with the cows! The top layer was then popped up on pads and there you have it.

Please check out the rest of the DT's inspiration and join in.

Simple and Neutral?

Just a quick post to share a card I made at the weekend but have only just got around to posting and I f I don't do it soon the deadline at Less is More will have passed.

I started this  card thinking I would use it for a DT post but then decided to go with another card so this was spare so to speak.
I 'd seen a card I liked, somewhere out there and made a note of it, but can I heck as like find it again, so please have my apologies if you think it is based on yours! I must make better notes.

The original card showed sequins and hole punches around a central sentiment, I realised that I could have a go using my MB Large Circle Burst and build a similar card. As the colour theme at LIM is 'Neutrals', I used shades of grey with a few gold hi lights and my new set of MFT blueprints dies to make a frame.
The center is made up of a stamped circle from Dee's Artsy Impressions, Flowers and Frames in Memento Grey Flannel o the base card and two MFT stitched circles stacked inside, one in the same grey as the main panel and linen effect gold onto which I stamped Thank You from the Dee's AI set Balloons and Banners and embossed in white.
The sequins and pearls were stuck randomly in the die cut holes and some of the original die were left in the small outer holes.
So that's about it, quite simple.

Colour Throwdown and CAS

Good afternoon folks.
It's time to announce the new sketch and theme challenge over at STAMPlorations.
Here is my card for the DT.

This time our theme is

or you could use this sketch

or even combine the two!

For my card I chose the theme, using my new stash of  Dee's Artsy Impressions Frames and Flowers and the birthday stamp from Balloons and Banners.
I absolutely love these small flower stamps from Dee's range, as regular readers will probably tell!
For this card I had an eye on the layout at CASe this Sketch but as I type the deadline has passed :( but hey I think it's a good layout! The colour's are a nod to the challenge over at Colour Throwdown.
I stamped the base panel with the rose stamps from the set, first using the palest of the orange inks on the wrong side of the stamp to give a background to the right side which I stamped with a darker shade of orange. I used my new Memento inks in Morocco, Canteloupe and Tangelo for the blooms and 2nd Impression Teal Zeal and London Fog for the foliage. The dots were added between the blooms with a w/c marker.
Here's a better look at the stamping

For the white side panels I embossed some lines in plain white card then cut a triangular aperture with my new Avery Elle border die. The 'happy' was cut 3 times in black with another AE die and layered up before sticking across the middle.
That's about it from me. Please check out the rest of the fab DT and join in, why don't you?
