Uniko September Challenge

Good morning folks.
It's been a lovely autumnal week herein the UK, the hay has finally been cut and hopefully soon baled and although the days are pleasantly warm, the evenings have a definite autumn chill to them.
Soon the leaves will start to change to their wonderful autumn hues,
So it's rather appropriate that the latest challenge over at Uniko has an autumnal theme, or you can just stay with the anything goes theme if you prefer.
Here is my card to inspire you.

This uses those small stamps that we all have, often mixed in with other images. I rooted through my Uniko sets and found quite a few sets with small leaf images, Big and Bold Hello, Nature's Treasures, Originally Organics Additions and Wonderful Day.
Using the small leaves from Nature's Treasures and a wreath builder template, I stamped away using autumnal colours on an off white card panel.
Next I made a tri-panel card by cutting a panel of burnt orange card stock to 41/2" x 131/2" from some large card I got a couple of years back in Lidl, then score at 41/2" and 9".  It's a larger size than A4 and enables me to make such card bases without having to join up two 41/2" square cards which is the other option.
After gluing my trimmed panel to the front of my card, I then used a circle die to cut an aperture through both front panels.

Folding the right hand panel into the middle, you may need to trim a sliver off this so it sits without buckling, I popped the card into the MISTI and stamped the sentiment from the Wonderful Day set with Versamark before embossing with gold EP.

A panel of plain card was added to the inner panel to add a hand written note without it showing at the front.
So that's all from me but please check out the rest of the team here.

Uniko May Challenge

It's time for a brand new challenge over at Uniko. Here's my inspiration for you.

This time our theme is Anything Goes with the twist of Masculine.

Now some of you may quake at the thought of masculine cards but being out numbered by boys in our family, I've got quite used to them!
I find that a CAS approach works well as well as the choice of colours. This card uses a panel made my combining two recently released sets, Mid Century Florals and the Mid Century Stencil.
To be honest the design of this card was dictated by the fact I smudged the stencil so had to hide it under the die cut plain top panel!
The stencil was inked through with Altenew black ink onto white card, then over stamped with the solid oval from the floral set in masculine colours, Altenew Parrot, Aqualicious and Memento Tangelo. The starburst from the floral set was then stamped randomly over the panel. The greeting is one from Simply Said Blocks, a couple of black pearls complete.
Voila, CAS and masculine!

Uniko Challenge

Morning peeps.
It's been a busy week on my blog and it isn't finished yet!
Today sees the start of a brand new challenge over at Uniko, so here is my inspiration card for you.

Bet you can't guess what the optional theme is this time ;) .

Yup, love is in the air at Uniko!
For my take, I started by sponging ink onto a top fold A6 base card with Worn Lipstick DOx through my Doodle Flower stencil, fading it out towards the edges.
On a scrap of card, I stamped the bud from Pure Florals- Rose and coloured it using Copics before fussy cutting it out.
I wanted a sentiment but couldn't find the exact one so I made one using a couple of the Simply Said Blocks and Blocks II and a little bit of masking.
The Rose bud was placed over the stencilling and the sentiment over the top on pads, simples.
Check out what the rest of the DT have made, then why not join in

Uniko Challenge #50

Morning all.
It's time for the last challenge of the year over at Uniko.
Here is my inspiration for you.

Our theme is -

I decided to play with my Copic Various Inks and Embossing Paste on Yupo paper, to create this panel.
Just a few drops of the Various Inks, blow down a straw to allow some mixing, then when dry add gold embossing paste using the Scandinavian Christmas Stencil.
My frame was cut from a panel of red textured coated card that's been in the stash for years, using an Avery Elle die. The sentiment from Pure Florals Poinsettia was stamped and embossed in gold.
My completed panel was then trimmed to allow a small border and glued to a matching base card.

While I was playing with my inks I created a blue panel and turned it into this.

For my background panel I used some Copic markers as well as my Various Inks. The main reason being I don't have any dark blue Various Inks!
On a piece of Yupo, I scribbled some B29 and B39, then added some Various ink in B12 and B00, as well as a little colourless blender to make the ink move around. This produced a more even colour on the panel just what I wanted.
I placed the scattered Polka Dots stencil over the panel and spritzed with some isopropyl alcohol.

PLEASE DO THIS AWAY FROM NAKED FLAMES AND IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA

I quickly moved in with a piece of kitchen roll and mopped up the excess ink before removing the stencil and washing it quickly. When I came back I decided that there wasn't quite enough texture so gave it another light spritz with the alcohol without the stencil, mopping again. This gave a much better result and softened the edges of the previously stenciled area. The alcohol reacts with the ink but because some was removed with the stencil you get a different effect in those areas.
I repeated the layout and sentiment but on white this time and added a torn card snowdrift and a gold stag cut from mirror card with an IO die

OK, that's all from me but don't forget to check out the rest of the girls' inspiration here.
