Afternoon folks.
The weather has been a lot milder this week after the snow bomb of last. Luckily it didn't hang around here and was mainly gone by Sunday, just a few pockets in the hollows out of the sun. Anyway, it prompted me to make this card for the new Color Hues challenge. There was no one here to make one from the real stuff, so here's a paper one!
Carol's chosen a wintery colour combination and I had decided NOT to make a Christmas card but then the challenge at CAS on Friday's theme was Snowman and what with the weather as it was well, it just had to be, sorry Nichola!
I bought a set of Snowmen digis from Lili of the Valley awhile ago and this one is one I haven't used before, they came as a set of 9 and I still have a few that I haven't used yet!
I had some NitWits DP left over from an earlier make, so cut off a strip and attached it to a white A6 base card. The snowman I coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut him out. Before adding him to my card, I added some Wink of Stella to give him a glistening look and then trimmed him down to fit the DP panel and then stamped my greeting in black, from a very old Woodware set.
So that's it really, a quick CAS card. Now its over to you, remember to only use the challenge colours along with any neutrals, but most of all have FUN!
Please check out the rest of the Color Hues team and our GD over on the blog for lots of fab inspiration.

You little snowman, on his wintry wonderland strip, is absolutely darling! As always, your colouring is such a treat to see! Love this - and thank you for making this colour combination shine!

Awwwwwwww...Lily of the Valley has the sweetest images, and your little snowman is absolutely ADORABLE Julie! Colored perfectly and fits right in with the DSP! Sweet, sweet card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThat's one cute snowman! I love the way he extends just beyond the scene you created for him. You could make multiple snowmen in my front yard now--given the wintery forecast, our snow is going to be here for awhile!
ReplyDeleteYour snowman is so cute and colored perfectly. He looks great with that background paper.
ReplyDeleteCute card, love the snowman and you colored him so well. We were supposed to get around an inch of snow last night. I looked out this morning and seen no snow. Must have just missed us. Thank goodness. Have a good weekend!

Aww, what a sweet snowman! This is a darling card!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet mittened snowman - happily lifting his hands to catch the snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteSuch a darling Snowman and sweet card! Try and stay warm!
ReplyDeleteThis snowy paper works perfectly with the sweet snowman, Julie! You always color so beautifully and this is one of my favorite layouts too!
ReplyDeleteYour snowman Christmas card is sweet as can be, Jules. Perfect way to use the challenge colours! xx
ReplyDeleteJulie, the snowman is so delightful and I love the shades of blue you used for coloring him. Your fussy cutting is so spot on as always. I aim to make Christmas cards all year long to avoid the year end rush I had last year. Nice that you have several more cute snowmen in your stash, they are perfect for CAS cards.
ReplyDeleteYou really brought that snowman to life with your beautiful coloring, Julie.
ReplyDeleteHe's a favourite LOTV snowman of mine. Lovely design x
ReplyDeleteSweetness!! Love this image!! Thanks for joining the fun and playing along with our clean and simple challenge!! You rocked our SNOWMAN themed over at CAS on Friday!!

So sweet! Great card! Thank you for joining us at CAS on Friday.
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable and yay you for getting a head start on holiday 2026. The blue shading really conveys cold but he looks sufficiently bundled up for the next Snow Bomb.
