Morning, it's a two post morning here on my blog but this one is to announce the new challenge at Cardz4Guyz. This time we would love to see your take on
A TASTE of AUTUMN/FALL
Autumn is supposed to be the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness and these last couple of days it's been filling the mist part but not the fruitful so much. The winds last week have smashed the climbing beans and the squash, which I managed to get under cover before the fruit was damaged too much. However a couple split with the fluctuation of water levels at the beginning of September. Far too much rain fell, flooding our yard and at one point it was lapping the house wall! Still I think I can use them sooner rather than trying to keep them!
Anyway here is my take.
This is one of my fave tree images from Chocolate Baroque, I think. They were part of a bargain bin at Port Sunlight a few years ago so no packaging!
I used the MISTI to create the image, using a mix of ink, water colour pens to create the soft autumnal look of the foliage. The MISTI allows you to keep adding colour and water to blend the inks without too much hassle. I left a few gaps in the foliage, my art tutor always said to leave some for the birds to fly through!
Just beautiful! Thanks for taking part at Stamping Sensations.

You have nailed the autumnal colours brilliantly Julie. Ours aren't quite that colour yet but getting there xx
ReplyDeleteYou've captured the beauty of autumn on your card. And this design is proof less is more. Thanks for playing with us at Inkspirational!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! I can see why this image is one of your favourites, Jules. Gorgeous watercolouring. Love the spaces for the birds to fly through ... the autumn colours and the gorgeous fall grass below. Amazing work!! We have had horrendous storms here and ended up with our crawl space full of water. Unfortunately, several pieces of artwork from family and friends was stored down there ... very upsetting. Hopefully it dries out more for you soon. xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Autumn tree, loving the CAS design that show case the tree perfectly. Thank you for joining The Male Room "Trees -challenge".
