CAS Mix Up GD

Good evening folks, hope you are all well.
Just stopping by to share a card for the new CAS Mix Up challenge where I'm guesting this time around.

My inspiration for this card came whilst I was having a clear up the other week. I had accumulated quite a few magazine articles which I had forgotten all about, so decided to have a flick through and get rid of the ones that no longer interested me. Amongst many pieces of paper was an article from Craft Stamper about stamping through a stencil by Lydia Evans. I have no idea of the issue or date but I thought I would have a try as it fitted with the challenge.

I first took a panel of thickish card, as pastes are prone to warping thin card, securing the stencil, STAMPlorations Leaf Prints 3, with some masking tape.  I used some Dreamweaver Embossing paste and a spatula to add a semi circle quite roughly to my panel. Removing the stencil carefully, the panel was left to dry and I quickly washed the paste off the stencil and spatula.
Once the stenciling and stencil were dry, I replaced the stencil over the card, taped it down and stamped a range of small leaves and flowers through it. I wasn't sure what the end result would be but I was pleasantly surprised. However, the left hand side was a bit wonky so I trimmed away that edge and added some DP to the base card to fill the gap.
On a piece of vellum, I stamped the greeting from Uniko in Altenew's Obsidian Black ink and heat embossed with clear EP. The vellum was trimmed down and wrapped over the stenciling, adding a few dots of black enamel effects gel. The finished panel was then added flat onto my A6 base card.

So where will you go with this latest challenge, try something new perhaps like me. There's lots of fab inspiration over on the CAS Mix Up blog from the DT and a second GD, along with some helpful links as always.

  1. How wonderful to have you join us this month as guest designer. I do love this card, what a clever idea. It turned out brilliantly, your colours are fabulous and the way you added the patterned paper when your panel became too small was just genius. It adds extra interest and wonderful contrast. Welcome to out little team xx
