Color Hues #41

Afternoon all, time for a new colour combo at Color Hues. I must admit I did struggle at first to get inspiration for this combo but when that happens I have a trawl through my stash to see what pops out but this Stamping Bella Up Town Girl stamp was still on my desk from an earlier make and said ink me up again!
I found the right DP so I was off! Its much easier to match your colouring to the DP than the other way round, believe me.

I found the DP in my NitWits digi folder and thought the background would work well with the colours, however when I printed it out, my printer did a funny with the colour so it ended up a little bluer than in the screen view than I wanted. Anyway as I had already coloured my image with Copics and fussy cut her out I was stuck. Print another sheet or improvise. Well the next sheet was even worse no blue at all so I went back to the original and went over it with the palest aqua Copic marker I used for my image and Bob's your uncle, saves me right for not printing it off first!

The central embossed panel was made using an EF from Hobbycraft, not sure of the make, perhaps it was an own brand and a scrap of linen effect card to match my base card. The sentiment banner is another scrap of the same linen effect but stamped on the reverse with a very old Personal Impressions stamp.

The card was assembled in a layout to match my scrap of embossed card, popping up the parcel heavy girl on pads.
So what will you make of the latest colour combo, the DT and our GD have some fabulous ideas if you need more inspiration here.

  2. The entire card just gels so well together, Julie! I should have read your post this morning as today I found myself trying to color some images after the DSP was already adhered to the card. It didn't go so well. Next time I will heed your warning. Awesome job with the color palette!

  3. I am going to try this comment again, not sure what happened. I wish I would have come by your blog this morning to take your advice about coloring first then pick out the DSP. I ran into all sorts of troubles today when I did the opposite. Love your image, your coloring and your DSP. Awesome card! Happy to see that you linked it up at STB too. Very happy about that! Thanks for playing.
